How come there's not more talk about TI Jazz Rounds???

I always play flats. I love TIs and LaBella LTFs. My attempts to have a bass with rounds have always failed. I always lose interest and find the tone generic and boring, metallic, zingy - until now!

Yesterday I strung up my new Jazz Bass with TI rounds, and to be honest it changed everything I know about "rounds." Smooth, warm, low finger noise, super slinky but not loose. The tone is like a well broken in set of nickels, at least from what I hear people say and it seems to make sense.

There's a lot of talk that they are very loose. Well, I don't find that to be the case playing on a JB near the bridge. In fact, it's absolutely prefect tension in this area. I could see how they may feel loose with a pick over a P pickup, but for JB fingerstyle, absolute heaven!!!

Do yourself a favor and try a set if you have a Jazz-type bass! Really cool silk color, too.

i think you've just missed the noise --- a bunch of us regularly extol the virtues of the TI JR344 set --- they're magnificent, indeed --- i think they're the best round wound ever!

I didn't know they existed until recently. Amazing warm strings!

agreed! i think they're perfect for fretless, too, just for the qualities you mentioned in your OP.

Just lol, I see atleast 3-4 different homage to this strings every day
I used one extra long scale on my 35'' acoustic and standard on my old 34'' Jazz Bass over the years.
Very lyrical overtones and nice bottom for a round.
I'm a flatwound guy but this is exception. If they had 45-105 gauge I'd pay 150$ my eyes closed.

I see why not but you might not get what you expected. They play around core and winding thickness ratio and tensions specifically. I'd try If I still used rounds

Seems just fine to me, I haven't worked out my proffered amp EQ curve for this bass yet though. I've been running it though the same settings I use for my Stingray so far (which is conservative given the active SR EQ) and definitely no lack of bottom end.

i have them on a jazz and a 4001. they seem to corrode somewhat easily so wipe them down now and again

With super flexible strings like these, there is no problem winding some of the "speaking" length around the tuner posts. They do feel a little stiffer to the right hand than the regular set, but still less stiff than "normal" rounds. A nice compromise.

If I played rounds (I don't - because of my acid-sweat superpower, they don't last), I would definitely get the super-long version.

When I need my fastest playing bass, my Fender American Professional with TI Jazz Rounds is my go-to.

I have standard 34”’on a 30.7” bass because I wasn’t paying attention because I probably saw a sparkle somewhere because I have the concentration of a squirrel and I cut the first string before I realized I grabbed the wrong pack from my box of strings. Anyway, 2 1/2 years later, all the chubby parts wrapped around the posts and many hundreds of hours use they’ve totally fine.

The only other strings i play are both low tension, so these don't seem weird to me at all, especially over the jazz bridge pickup where tension is a lot higher. I find them to feel slightly stiffer than the TI Flats that are on my stingray, which I also play close to the bridge.
