That's quite good. I put a set on a spare bass last year, they've become my favorite rounds.

Stings forum is a highlight for me on this site, and this thread does not disappoint. Will try TI someday.

Thanks for posting up. Mind elaborating … did you hear & feel same as others but just don’t vibe with that, or was your experience different?

I went the other way on a Jazz bass, JR344 to PB 40-95.

Tension was extra light, tone warm, and a real delight to hear, but their cores are fragile and my G unwound during a string swapping exercise. Put them on then leave them on for a long time.

Oh, and the super low tension performs better on a really stable neck. Tried them on a cheaper necked bass only to have an unstable setup.

I tried these once on a bass that I flipped shortly after putting them on, so I don’t have a lot of experience with them. However, I’m a huge fan and long-term user of Jazz Flats and I need to try them again. I just put a set of DR Bootzillas on one of my basses (really nice so far) so I’ll give these a try in a few months

You should! I have tried a number of strings and, for me, TI rounds and Pure Blues are the "best" for the sound and feel and playability I am after.

I have heard people say that TI rounds "ruin/spoil your fingers"; in the sense that it is hard to go back to "normal" strings once you've played TIs. In a way, that tongue-in-cheek statement is not entirely wrong ;)

I didn't care for the feel of the strings, nor for the tonal quality - I wanted more bite.

Hmmm..They are not that different than the lightest L7200 pressurewound, less bright though, not more, in my opinion. This would probably be the closest string to the jazz rounds.

I always play flats. I love TIs and LaBella LTFs. My attempts to have a bass with rounds have always failed. I always lose interest and find the tone generic and boring, metallic, zingy - until now!

Yesterday I strung up my new Jazz Bass with TI rounds, and to be honest it changed everything I know about "rounds." Smooth, warm, low finger noise, super slinky but not loose. The tone is like a well broken in set of nickels, at least from what I hear people say and it seems to make sense.

There's a lot of talk that they are very loose. Well, I don't find that to be the case playing on a JB near the bridge. In fact, it's absolutely prefect tension in this area. I could see how they may feel loose with a pick over a P pickup, but for JB fingerstyle, absolute heaven!!!

Do yourself a favor and try a set if you have a Jazz-type bass! Really cool silk color, too.

Two reasons I've not tried a set of the TI rounds.

I'm not a fan of any manufacturers rounds when they loose their zing on the E and A strings.
The description of the TI rounds seems to be, when their new they come out of the package sounding like their already semi-worn-in/flat.

Second reason, the price.

I would still like to someday try a set just to see what my ears think, but judging by the user descriptions their probably not gonna work for me.
