Thoughts on this Polish and Cleaner

Okay. So I asked my friend if he could buy me a Dunlop Guitar Polish and Cleaner since he is in the metro and he bought the...

Dunlop Orchestral 65 Polish and Cleaner (Ugh!).

According to the website and the indication on the product, it is the ideal daily-use cleaner and polish for all modern violin, cello, and viola finishes.

I own a Ibanez SR300 (2008) with a Urethane finish and the wood is Agathis. I want to ask you guys if it is okay to use this product on my bass? Will it be safe? Will it not destroy the finish? Can I also use it to clean the back of the neck and other parts?

It also says that, "Just spray on and wipe off to immediately remove grime and fingerprints, while leaving a micro-thin protective layer that won't build up." "NOT FOR USE ON FRENCH-POLISHED OR SHELLAC FINISHES FOUND ON SOME ANTIQUE INSTRUMENTS"

I was a bit concerned since it was indicated that it is ideal for those instruments and thought that it might stain or destroy the finish or make the finish dull instead of making it shine. Good thing it won't go to waste. Thanks!

Just return it and get what you wanted in the first place.

Return it and get the right stuff. While it should clean your bass, it won't work as well as the regular guitar polish and cleaner. I don't think the one you have is strong enough or the right formula for the average guitar finish, I would imagine it's a lot milder.

I wish it is that easy here. The policy we have in our country is really off. Anyway, this will have to do for the meantime. At least it can clean and it won't damage the finish. Thanks guys!
