Thoughts on warwick rockbass corvette $$

My Rockbass has serious issues, but I got it for free from a guy that had no use for it anymore, so all in all I'm happy to have it at least for now. Before you buy it you should check it out totally. The tuners on mine are crap and they come loose time after time. The neck is a mess also and doesn't keep straight. The bridge is flimsy, and the knobs get loose. You might not even be able to tell from checking it out at a store that it will not faulter any time soon, but I guess if it's just a 'for the time being bass' you could go for it, just don't pay too much, you'll never get that cash back on resale value. Check out other brands aswell, if you go secondhand you might even be able to get decent quality and who knows, maybe even find your main axe!

While I've heard the 2010+ Rockbasses are 10x much better than earlier ones, (aint played one yet, can't find 'em) I'd still save for a German built. Mine was 9 yrs old when I got it, it'll be 11 next month, that thing is SOLID...stays in tune and if you can find one used you might find it's much more affordable..mine was $500 but it's not a $$, just a J/J standard 'vette...it was love at first sight. I've seen $$'s around $800 used. Right now I'm recycling cans to save for a new Warwick....these guys are addicting and like a tat, you can't just have one.

And +1 on how cheesy that "Carolena" wood is, I was bad and dug my fingernail into one, it was soooo soft! I don't mind Alder, if I was going to get a RB, it'd be at least Alder and not expect the growl.
