Thanks Mark! After so many years playing them they are the bass I feel most at home with. If I play something else people notice! Not often people notice the bass player.LOL

I struggle to own anything other than T Birds - You know!
My only only other bass is a Washburn AB-20, until Gibson makes an acoustic 'Bird, it'll have to do

Hope you don't mind a personal question -- but did you start out playing Thunderbirds, or did you start with some other type of bass and then eventually work your way around to the TB's? Reason I ask is that I'm going to be shopping for what will be my "beginner bass," and if you have an opinion about the appropriateness of a TB for that purpose, I'd be interested in hearing it. Thanks!

Since I don't have a Subaru, I had to do something else to show the fast growing collection.

They're all Epi's, and I still need to get my hands on the Pelham Blue and the Ebony custom shop models.

I might customize a few of them in near future...

Oh, my home... Well thank for noticing!

Actually my home is a constant work in progress: It's actually two apartments merged into one big apartment.
Everything has been redone - All walls and wood panels have been stripped, and I've put in new flooring, new electricity, new radiators and a brand new kitchen so far...

Two new bathrooms and the hallway are up next...

Thanks for the offer, unfortunately I'm on the othe side of the Atlantic, though.

Sounds like I should upload some more photos one day of the rest of the apartment - My girlfriend and I do have a soft spot for alternative light fixtures, like the Jeremy Cole Aloe Blossom chandelier among others...

However, I think that would have to be in a completely different thread.

Not to personal at all! Being a big Beatles fan I started on a Klira, very much like a Hofner 500/1. My next bass bought in '72 was a '65 Hofner I thought I'd gone to heaven having the real deal. It didn't take long though to discover the bass world was leaving the Hofner behind, players like Entwistle and Jim Lea were becoming big influences on me. Entwistles Thunderbirds and Fenderbirds , Jim Lea with his EB3. The summer of '75 I worked at a local restaurant to earn enough money to buy a solid body bass. What I wanted was a EB3, the store talked me into the new Gibson G3..................... I hated it and unloaded it in less than six months. I settled on a '76 Ibanez Destroyer looks like a 50's Explorer that was my main bass till later in '76 I bought my first Thunderbird a tobacco sunburst Bicentennial. It wasn't till '77 I bought my first nonreverse and finally at that point I knew I had the bass for me.

That is one serious mean looking bird of prey! Really like the finish/colour on that bird!
