Hey! Anyone come across a more classic-looking replacement tuner for the smaller-headstock Epiphone T-Birds? Trying to trick out a white Classic IV Pro with nickel hardware, got the p/u covers and rings, nickel bridge, then remembered regular-size tuners won't fit There's gotta be something better than the black chrome guys that are on there what'd'y'all reckon?
Wait! I now see the Hipshot HB6C-3/8 - but it looks like the tuner buttons are still a little too big - too close together - that they might hit each other on the odd chance they had to line up exactly in line *Anyone tried these on a modern TBird?
Does anyone know the weight of stock Grover tuners on Gibson NR Thunderbirds?
I'm considering swapping to HS Ultralites.
Ultralites are a claimed 44 grams.
Thanks.
I've checked everywhere and have yet to find a weight.
If I had a scale I'd post the weight myself.
I figure the Hipshots are nicer in every respect but the Grover's do the job well enough.
It really comes down to the weight and without knowing the exact difference it doesn't seem like money well spent.
I mean the Grover's are tiny little tuners how much more can they weigh?
13 years in the bicycle industry has turned me into a weight weenie.
Pretty simple, the '64 KILLS. None of the others really comes close...what else do you need to know?

Wish I understood Japanese... Some pretty cool videos demoing the differences between lots of different Birds, both modern & vintage, and some sporting different pickups.
