Which G&L pups are those?
How do they sound?
Did they require any additional routing, or did they fit the stock T-bird pup cavities?

Hey, I don't mean to hijack the T-Bird thread - well, yes, I do...

I've always thought of the RD as either a "Super Bird" or the next generation of bird evolution.
They are the stock ones out of one of my L-2000's. The neck pickup sounds like an extremely angry P, while the bridge soloed is very growly. With both pickups on, I get a slightly mellowed tone with a little bit of phase to it. I only use the bass in parallel mode, in series it is uncontrollable. The only thing I had to do was massage the corners of the T'bird factory routes because the radius was a little different on the G&L pickups. It is my #1 goto bass right now.

Yes.......
It's a 'Bird of much different feather, active electronics, different pichup design, Maple and set neck construction would make it a very different "Bird. I'll have the use of one of the new re-issues when it's released and while I look forward to that it's the original RD that I G.A.S. for.

Well, thanks to DJJazzV, I've got a new sibling for my Bird... Damn the ebony neck feels oh soooo good!
At 11.5 lbs, this baby will only be used for a few songs at a time, but it sounds awesome!

So I had my mind pretty made up on a Invalid Link Removed and was just waiting to sell my electric guitar and wait till the end of the month sort out my finances and go buy it...
Tonight we went to a nearby mall to watch the 3rd "paranormal activity" flick, after we got the tickets I went in a music store that also sells some instruments to browse some 4 stringers.
There were the typical Squier P and Jazz bass, some Eko and other copies.
There was also an Epiphone T-Bird IV in vintage sunburst...
I am now second guessing the Strinberg and considering coughing up the extra bucks to get the bird that is now hanging on for dear life to my brain

Looks like a reflection to me. Notice it is the same pattern as the placemats on the table? I think it is the edge of another placemat.

I ended up returning so the same mall on the following day.
After having lunch I ran over to the store to ask why they had given me a price different to what I was seeing on their website, to my luck they lowered the price a little bit!
Again I got to unhang it from the wall, play it (unplugged) for a little bit and even try one of those planet waves lock straps to see it if it worked with the bass and it just felt amazing hung over my shoulder.
I am even more in love with it as before!
The potential buyers I had for my Strat got cold feet for some reason or another so I'm thinking about using my credit card for some of the bass' value to get it this weekend before someone beats me to it
