Here's my Epi-Bird Pro along with a 'flip-flop' cab I designed - use it straight-on or flip it to angle the speaker upwards as a monitor. I made the sides out of oiled mahogany and maple, just like my bird!
I've also found that a strap made from a seatbelt, with a metal end bracket, stops my Bird from tilting forward, and it looks cool.
Can I get a number?

Like that cab idea, mind sharing some more pics/build info. Since its off Tbird topic you can open a new thread on it.

...regarding the neck through Epi Tbird, there was a post here about a month ago about Epi officially announcing them at Musikmesse

Hey, I just heard that Gibson showed a new "Epiphone Thunderbird Classic" here in Germany at the Musikmesse Frankfurt. From what I have heard Gibson has lost interest in building the Tbird under the Gibson brand because it doesn't pay off for them - they can make more money with building Les Pauls in that time.

So, the new Epiphone Thunderbird classic is a neck-trough and also has the original Thunderbird USA pickups! Here's a photo from Musikmesse: Link Removed

Nice chrome hardware, and it comes in vintage sunburst and white!...

Will the fender reverse jaguar as disscussed at:

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/fender-reverse-jaguar-878515/

count as a Thunderbird or is it a Fenderbird?

The Thunderbird club postings have made me seriously want a Thunderbird style bass. Being a big John Entwistle fan I already have an Ibanez Destroyer II and I was considering making a Fenderbird using a Thunderbird body with a left-handed neck. Ideally, I would like to have a neck "mud bucker" paired with a bridge humbucker and with the same type controls as on an SG.

It counts as neither.

Real Fenderbirds are a mahogany body shaped like a Thunderbird (or one of Peter Cook's later modifications - See Cataldobasses JAE Bird for example) combined with a maple Fender neck, most importantly, Thunderbird pickups, which are nothing like that MM clone.
Since we're over here in the T Bird thread I don't mind saying that Fender is simply hideous - Another FMIC money grab cobbling together crap from their various parts bins.

Love that red Fenderbird! Great paint job and love the black block inlays and reverse headstock.

I want your crow poster!!! Nice basses by the way. how does the blackbird sound?

the blackbird has more of a heaver sound than the normal t-bird....but i'm pretty sure that thy both have the same pickups...
but the blackbird has a maple neck i think that makes in darker....

its a great bass....and i love maple necks...mahogany is nott for me(so no gibson thunderbird for me)

I'm just going to go ahead update us by welcoming and adding armedmonkey #253 and RedNeckBBQ #254 - Great pics guys, thank you!

I'd like a number. Just picked up a used Epi Tbird with OHSC, a (cheap) strap and strap locks, a new set of DR and a new set of D'Addario strings for $125. It was dirty as all hell, the previous owner scratched the Epi logo off the truss rod cover and...there's lots of little dings, dents, cracks, etc.

I cleaned it up really well, I'm going to figure out how to fill in and touch up the cracks but in the mean time except for the neck dive this thing plays and sounds great!
