Let me know if you don't want the bridge cover :)

I couldn't get used to the bridge cover at first. Constantly dropping my pick. So I took it off. Then a few days later my niece asked me where it was. She told me it looked a lot cooler with the cover on. I thought "Agh, I'll get used to it." So I put it back on. Taking it off was a big mistake! It gives the bass even more of a vintage look IMO.

I'm waiting arrival of my Westfield Thunderbird bass that I've just won on ebay. I've also managed to get a thunderbird body loaded with pickups, hardware etc from fellow club member Mr Kev (He's got Overend's tBird) via ebay. I've sourced a neck. Unfortunately it's got a rosewood board not a maple one.

Can I have a number or do I need to post pictures first?

Hi Guys! I've been lurking thru this site for awhile now but decided to say hello here in the T-Bird section. I have been playing guitar the last 6 years and have had alot of fun, but have often thought of trying bass. One of my obsessions has been Epiphone Elitist Les Pauls and hanging out over at the MyLesPauls forums. I really enjoy Gibsons Epiphone brand and have never really connected with any form of Strat style body. So when looking at basses, the T-bird was the body style I liked the most.

I love the T-bird body in the Vintage Sunburst and was ready to buy when I saw here the new Classic Epi Thunderbird will be out in a few months. I am stoked to get one, but wanted something now to start learning bass seriously. Lo and behold, I lucked up with a great pawn shop find...an Epi Goth T-bird I picked up for $120 two days ago. After a detailed tear down and cleaning, new strings and set up....I'm really liking it. After seeing all the higher end T-birds here, it may seem like a cheapo route into the T-bird club, but I hope to learn alot with this one and add the new Classic later. Thanks for all the Thunderbird inspiration guys!
Will

Great price on the Epi Goth!! Nothing wrong with starting at the lower price point. Not everyone can spend mega-bucks on gear. I have several Epi's, a Bach, and a Gibson Bird (with a second on the way :D ) and love playing them all for different reasons.

Congratulations on the new 'Bird!

Welcome here, and like the previous thread's title said "all Thunderbirds are welcome here" $120.00 is a steal, hats off to you sir, for a great find :hyper:

Anyone heard of Fano Guitars? they have a pretty cool looking short scale Tbird.

Invalid Link Removed

I got to play one once before a show in NJ at Russo's Music.

It was a full scale model in a sonic blue color. I didn't get a chance to plug it in, but it felt and played nice. Really thin width neck, but chunky front to back.

I had a bottom of the line Epi Thunderbird. It sounded great and was comfortable. But I gave it to my son. I missed it, so I just bought a Pro IV with a case. Back to owning a Thunderbird. If a Thunderbird claims you, you have to play one. Lesson learned.

Odd question perhaps, but has anyone here had chrome pickup rings crafted for their Epi Elite 'bird?

Long story short, I have repurchased my old Elite bird that I sold to Poman (the box is waiting for me at home to unwrap as I type) and I want to dress it up a bit. I did reach out to Dave at fretsonthenet.com but he hasn't ever done the surrounds for an Elite Tbird.

Thanks in advance,

Stephen
