Hi Guys! I've been lurking thru this site for awhile now but decided to say hello here in the T-Bird section. I have been playing guitar the last 6 years and have had alot of fun, but have often thought of trying bass. One of my obsessions has been Epiphone Elitist Les Pauls and hanging out over at the MyLesPauls forums. I really enjoy Gibsons Epiphone brand and have never really connected with any form of Strat style body. So when looking at basses, the T-bird was the body style I liked the most.
I love the T-bird body in the Vintage Sunburst and was ready to buy when I saw here the new Classic Epi Thunderbird will be out in a few months. I am stoked to get one, but wanted something now to start learning bass seriously. Lo and behold, I lucked up with a great pawn shop find...an Epi Goth T-bird I picked up for $120 two days ago. After a detailed tear down and cleaning, new strings and set up....I'm really liking it. After seeing all the higher end T-birds here, it may seem like a cheapo route into the T-bird club, but I hope to learn alot with this one and add the new Classic later. Thanks for all the Thunderbird inspiration guys!
Will
