Strap button placement Wednesday!


For bass and treble geetars I really like heel placement, birds, SG’s, V’s, etc…

I do like the upper horn placement on Rick’s, FSO’s, and my new Embassy. But I don’t like horn placement on treble geetars. Like on strats.

I was trying to figure out why I didn’t like my Gretsch as much as my other DC’s and the strap button is on the horn, it’s a short horn but it still feels off, I’m going to move the button this afternoon..

Equally odd they are shown with what looks like standard black plastic Tbird pups vs the chrome ProBuckers.
Oh well, everybody do the Gibson shuffle, it’s two steps forward and one step back.
I’m still holding out for an Eppi NR, might be a long wait though.

I find it hard to believe if these happen, they’ll be crazy enough not to use the Alnico pickup in the ‘21 NR. Scott’s opinion aside, I really like the new pickups. But if they don’t, one would only need to buy one Thunderbucker.

Yes, I had a bunch of hifi and stereo stuff when I was a kid, Dynaco Stereo 70's, MkIIIs etc. I would still like to get a McIntosh MC-275 someday but unlikely, this pioneer stuff sounds really good though. Messy of course. I have modern speakers with it though, Monitor 500 Bronze with double 8" woofers, got to hear that bass

Actually, the Tbird ‘60s and NR Orginal Collections look pretty sweet! Colors, pups and hardware are pretty much what I’ve been waiting for. Wonder what the cost will be and when they might release them.

I saved up and bought components as I could. I told my wife the other day that I've worked so long I hardly remember not working. I should have retired at 45 (I'm 59)!

Same here, my brother-in-law gave me most of that stuff. That component stuff is still not cheap at all. I bought that graphic equalizer in the picture myself and it was 400 bucks. The amps routinely go for about a grand, the tape deck close to a grand, they don't make stuff like that anymore. I bought the reel to reel very cheaply from my brother-in-law, 1500 bucks, it had been restored and he had paid close to 4 grand for it but wanted a two track not a 4 track for some reason..

I think I posted this here before but I had an SVT head fall off the top of an SVT cab (810) onto a concrete sidewalk and all it did was dent the metal corner of the head and put a small crater in the sidewalk.

I'm going to have to somehow block you if you don't stop. You're killing me with all the Peavey.

Tell us the story, if you haven't and I just haven't got that far yet.

Some people make fun or and look down on Peavey, but any of the older stuff I had/used worked, was reliable and sounded good. What else is needed? And I still like the older classic cab look.

Strap button placement Wednesday!


For bass and treble geetars I really like heel placement, birds, SG’s, V’s, etc…

I do like the upper horn placement on Rick’s, FSO’s, and my new Embassy. But I don’t like horn placement on treble geetars. Like on strats.

I was trying to figure out why I didn’t like my Gretsch as much as my other DC’s and the strap button is on the horn, it’s a short horn but it still feels off, I’m going to move the button this afternoon..
