Thunderbird Club

talk to GB? has a nice tuxedo one…:D
first Gen II is next for me….

I'm still just Gah Gah over mine, the neck is like an orgasm for my left hand, and the pickup, just everything about it.

I think you two need to get a room.

We have!

I've not touched the other Birds in awhile now.

No Lull pup in my BaCH II yet, but somebody let go of it a while ago, don’t know if he regrets it, but if I ever decide to sell it I’ll be sure to ping him first…

I keep looking for a Greco pup to drop in the BaCH but those seem increasingly hard to come by. Would be nice to have a set of Tbird II bookends both with the same pups, one with flats and one with rounds…

There's a blast from the past.

Mine actually intonates - not all of them need replacing though I wouldn't hesitate to add one of Scott's bridges were it to need one.

Interesting. Mine was definitely not wide enough to get intoned correctly. I've seen examples where people re-drilled the bridge location so assumed all gen1 T-bird bridge locations from the factory were the same.

Original bridge - maxed out and not intoned correctly. Frankly, I played it like this for years until learning how proper intonement was done.

Properly intoned with room to spare both directions

Also replaced the original nut which was mis-cut from the factory - the replacement brass nut I cut for it added chime-y clarity & sustain.

Well, I had never thought of it like that. But the sentiment isn't entirely foreign. I would more likely make that analogy with the tone while playing. Euphoria for the ears. Even with my playing.

My fav Pbass back in the day had an A neck. It was stollen during a church break-in. Man I loved that bass. I put some dimarzio pickups in it and it was a beast.
