Put on the slippers3 point with a claw is pure perfection, I like it better than the 2 point and claw, but both look bassad

OK, Chemists, pure and unapplied...Chem E. joke...or insult...There are geeky chemistry jokes too.
You know what they say: if you aren't part of the solution...
You are part of the precipitate.
Yeah, the Gorgomyte stuff is really great. And so simple and quick. No more lemon oil.A couple options I like.
The first will nourish the wood and make frets look better than new. Assuming the fret material is of good quality.
Gorgomyte Fret And Fingerboard Conditioner
Wonder wipes are good for cleaning any of the wood surfaces.
Ernie Ball Wonder Wipes Fretboard Conditioner 20-pack
And now begins the Thunderbird holy war - Hipshot on Gibson on or notI haven't had the inserts lift out of either of my Gibson's with the Hipshot installed and both have been on for years. I could see it happening to someone tho. Didn't inserts shift on the some of the Les Paul Oversized basses when they were first released? I seem to remember that being an issue.
But did you save on your car insurance?I am not an engineer, nor do I play one on TV. But I have stayed at a Holiday Inn.
I had a sheet or 2 of gorgomyte saved in a ziploc bag. When I went to it a few months ago, it was all dried up. So I got the Dunlop stuff from GC. But I did like that gorgomyte stuff.Yeah, the Gorgomyte stuff is really great. And so simple and quick. No more lemon oil.
I buy insurance based on how good the commercials are...But did you save on your car insurance?
I generally use the wonder wipes when the frets still look great. Generally. But as I've mentioned before, I do the frets with the Gorgomyte first so as to not grind the black stuff into the fretboard, then with a clean patch do that. May be useless, but makes be feel better. Have you ever tried the GHS version? I have not, but wondered if it was a good.Yeah, the Gorgomyte stuff is really great. And so simple and quick. No more lemon oil.
There's no war or argument, Gibson should have stuck with a (modified) two piece claw. And now begins the Thunderbird holy war - Hipshot on Gibson on or not*
I agree that there is no written torque spec., however, one needs to resist the temptation to crank as hard as possible, then add a quarter turn. Given that the force applied to the inserts from the strings no longer has a vertical component, there is only a need to hold the bridge securely to the bass; about finger-tight.**
In anticipation of the inevitable objection that it will loosen up:
Part of routine maintenance includes checking for tightness such things as the jack and other threaded parts including the bridge.
* In jest of course.

Gibson should have never dissed The Claw. Don't dis The Claw.I've even received it dried out. There's a way to "revive" it, but I can't recall what it is. Brave search engine might help.I had a sheet or 2 of gorgomyte saved in a ziploc bag. When I went to it a few months ago, it was all dried up. So I got the Dunlop stuff from GC. I tossed it. Next time!I've even received it dried out. There's a way to "revive" it, but I can't recall what it is. Brave search engine might help.

No, I've only used the Gorgomyte stuff. I'm not huge on cleaning everything. Just enough to be playable. So these clothes are great for me.I generally use the wonder wipes when the frets still look great. Generally. Walnut Wednesday sounds fun, here’s one of mine…
Wait a gosh darn minute, it’s not Wednesday, it’s Monday! Mono Monday, so show your one pup basses - especially if they’re Tbirds!
