thought Entwistle gave Leon W the Fenderbird….
Yep. One of our secrets Deej. They’re not the one-trick ponies some think they are. The volume and tone pots in them are great at tweaking that beautiful humbucker tone to fit any genre of music. You don't see them used much in soul and funk.

Do you get SIT strings over there? It's no secret I'm a huge fan of their Power Steels. I'd suggest checking those out.
I haven't checked lately but if Thomann carries those then it would be no problem.
You mean as an alternative to the Daddario Pro Steels?
I did use SIT's for my 12-string a few years ago, got them with the help of Mark from 12stringbass.net. They were very good indeed.
Ken got me to try a set and I was not sorry. I don't want steels on many things and don't go for angry piano type sounds, but the SITs are not as bright as Rotos and have mids that are more full and or a little lower. No dreaded scoop. Rotos don't bother me, but the SITs are less rough. Very nice string.Yeah, I guess as an alternative to the Pro Steels, and maybe even the Boomers. I tried Pro Steels once and found them very scooped-sounding. I find the Power Steels a lot fuller. And I think they feel great.
He did. That is true.thought Entwistle gave Leon W the Fenderbird….
yeah, survived a murder attempt and a plane crash…That's true. Leon was a lucky guy.
Love this piece of (vid) history - as the T-bird was a gift.., I doubt he played it much.
The B3 was such an important part of late '60s-early/mid '70s music.

Apparently the Power Wound are the same as the Power Steel, just nickel. I have no experience with them, though.Great to read this as the Finnish supplier carries only the Power Wound nickel set and you can only guess if Thomann carries them at all...
Gonna email the Finnish guy.
We used to do it in our group(2 guitars, drums, bass)-until the one guitar man's organ sim 'died'.I love this vid and play along to it all the time. Creedence was digging it too. I like the tone from Dunn’s Pbass in it.

Thanks Irv. I’ll be reaching out when the time comes.I’d be happy to share how I built my acoustic treatment panels when you’re ready Marshall.
I bet that sounds awesome. I love the new pickups in the NR. Were I not having to cover taxes next week, I would be really interested in it.

*I am not trying to start a conversation about taxes so let’s not go there please. Just a fact that there’ll likely be no new gear for me for the foreseeable future. So I’ll have to live vicariously through the rest of you. Someone here Please buy this!
Yeah. But the Pickups are a great mod."The tone is very bright and doesn’t break up like a typical thunderbird. It’s also sporting a Malory capacitor as well." ... ??? break up ??? ...and the "Malory capacitor"... pa-lease...Even using "sporting" is a tip-off to BS.

I've used the NPS before and they are nice. It's been a long time and I just drifted to other things. G&Ls used to come with them till they went with D'As.Apparently the Power Wound are the same as the Power Steel, just nickel. I have no experience with them, though.
From what I remember, they were evenly balanced tone-wise. No weird mids, scoop, boomy lows, etc. Just a nice string--and very reasonably priced, at least in the States. I think I even have an old set of their exposed cores.Look. It’s the color you want. Who knows how much longer they’ll be around. You need to jump on this NOW!That is nice.
Then this popped up..... I must be strong.
