Great version and great band, the play acting was funny too , I've always liked Dunaway's bass lines too and he nailed it, its an integral part of the song anyway. That bass player even resembles Dennis from a distance.

I have La Bella DTB SS on a Gibson, I like them too. The SS Rotos are completely different feeling, they're rough feeling at first but I love the feel and the sound. Your fingers will NEVER slip off of them.

RS66s are a little rough on the fingers if you’re not used to them.

I've heard that steel strings are less pleasant to the touch than nickel strings; but my thought is "I have to live this, to have my own experience".
Whether it's something to live with or not, I have to check it out.

The ones I just put on the Flamingo were .050 to .110 or something like that. I could be wrong. The silks are purple. Which is perfect for the Flamingo

You know, heavy Rotos may not be the way to have your first Roto experience. Some SSs require a little extra work in some ways due to the friction many of them create. Rotos tend to be a bit stiff anyway. Just a thought.

They have a different feel to them, as do most. (Dean Markely's feel about like nickels.) The "roughness" doesn't bother me at all. Never think about it when playing. But I wouldn't want to fight high tension strings at the same time.
