Still, not willing to take the chance. If I get banned again, it'll be a permaban.

Let's not have that happen - we'd like you to stick around!

We all have vivid imaginations in regards to the pearloid

I listened to YouTube vids of the Ultra Bass, I'm not saying EMG nailed the vintage T Bird sound but I like what I heard.
Only got one response to my questions about the Schecter Ultra bass, so I'm gonna guess that nobody has experience with one or maybe everyone is doing like Mom used to advise by not saying anything if you have nothing nice to say.

I edited my previous post from saying... it was probably dumb for me to ask a group of T-Bird owners/fans what they thought of a Schecter T-Bird wannabe copy-ish creation ...to the comment about advise your momma gives you on saying something nice.
I figured most folks here would say outright that they hated it, I was surprised nobody did.
What I like about it (as a used item) is that for $300-$400 you end up with a maple/mahogany neck through bass that does not have a three point bridge, plus a couple of EMG's, that if they sound crappy can be changed to one of several T-Bird bucker choices.
But I'm not sure that a Tune-O-Matic type bridge is a great choice for a bass bridge either.

I have never been able to try one of these basses. I don't have a problem with the looks, the brand, or the hardware. Just have had a problem finding one in a store. I think they are appealing in a way, and I kind of like the Simon Gallop sig model more than the Schecter Sixx model. They do seem to be a good deal on the used market but I would never pay what they ask for a new one.

I like the Dean hybrid bass that is all blacked out, but this version is nice too:

Just about no one seems to have bought them. There were a bunch on the Guitar Center Website about six moths after the intro'd. They were blowing them out for $499 IIRC.

I saw Casey Orr (Gwar, Rigor Mortis, Ministry) play one on the 2012 Ministry tour - Looked and sounded great... :)
