Thunderbird Club

Makes sense. Am I the only one that can't stand ACDC's singers voice? It's like really loud nails on a chalkboard for my eardrums. Not trying to offend anyone.
I'm offended*! He sounds like a dove cooing! And don't dare say anything about Geddy's singing.

* I may be joking...

I do however think that Neil Young's singing sounds like a constipated parrot. My daughter kills herself laughing when I sing along to Neil songs (performed by others) and I punctuate phrases with "rawk"

I am not a big fan of Brian's vocals either, especially on a song like Thunderstruck. I think he is a good fit for the band but I can only take so much at one time.
My tolerance for AC/DC has waned over the years. I still like them, but I don't want to listen to a full album anymore. Still, they have done well for a bunch of guys who made the same album 12 times...

Someone here posted that they used an Ikea shelf for a pedalboard. Was it @PillO ?? If so, did you just spray paint it or did you use a sealer on it as well? Thank you for any info.
That was indeed me. The ghetto pedalboard project.

I bought one of these
HEJNE Shelf, 303/8x181/2"2 pack (77x47 cm2 pack) - IKEA CA
and spray painted it neon yellow. No priming or anything - it was done to be fast and cheap. Cables can be routed underneath. Velcro glued to the painted surface.

By no means is it road ready. It is just a means of organizing for static use. My brother used the spare shelf from the two pack for the same, however he cut it to be less wide and raised it so that the power supply could go underneath. I think he did two coats of paint.

Pros - inexpensive, sturdy
Cons - probably not road ready

edit - it appears your primary concern is painting. The wood is very porous, so applying a primer is important if you want to cover the wood. But is optional if you don't mind grain showing through.

Alfa Romeo cars are fantastically fun little machines. I had a Spider that was a blast to drive on twisty little roads. Not the fastest cars in their class, not the best handling cars in their class but certainly one of the highest fun factor cars in their class.
A pic from 1990 of my two boys with the ‘86 Alfa Spider and my ‘88 MB 560 SEC (a real autobahn burner)…

…if looking for another Italian sports car or sedan I’d definitely look at Alfa first. Love the GTV and Montreal models as well.
Ummmm. How do both cars have the same plate number??

Just picked up an early 2000s Gibson Thunderbird. Previous owner added a strap button at the top horn. Took a while to understand how the bridge gets adjusted, still not quite sure. Should the front screw be higher than the 2 at the rear? And what fretboard do these have?

First, welcome here with us! I will bring the list forward shortly.
Regarding the bridge I would tell you that if your bass has a shallow pitch to the neck you do not need to have the center screw higher than the two outer ones. It's quite possible to to have really low action and the center screw would be quite low. None of my Birds are set up with a higher center screw.

Don't mind the furry tugboat in the background......

This is my 2021 Non Reverse, all my Birds look like this, or lower.

At the time of the photo, in the state of Kentucky, front plates were not issued or required, just rears. I didn’t want to look at an ugly empty bracket on the front bumper, so I installed my old plates from California. Was stopped by the police for various traffic violations over the years and they never had a problem with it, so I guess it’s legal there, or at least was until 2013. Donny might be able to weigh in if it’s still a non issue.

When I was a kid and I heard Love Hurts, I thought it was a black woman singing:laugh:

I actually thought the same when I first heard "Highway To Hell"!

Steve Marriot
Terry Reid
John Gustafson
Geddy Lee (especially the first four albums and the '81-'91 period)
Robert Wyatt
Todd Rundgren
Daryl Hall
Demetrio Stratos
Jon Anderson
Glenn Hughes (in studio)
Robert Plant
Sting
Phil Collins
Fish

I have lots of favourite singers with a high range (not all of those sing "up there" all the time), probably forgot many.

Just to counter all Zappa stuff.

It's amazing how well they made it seem like nothing was wrong between the four members of ABBA in this clip. They were already separated and initiating the divorce process. The mood wasn't pleasant between them from what I've read and watched in documentaries and intwerviews.
