Got a question for you guys. What are your thoughts on straight jack cables vs angled? Not just aestethics and looks but on a technical level.
I like to use angles whenever possible. Less to bang into. One bass has a deep input and an angle doesn't work well.

I won't go so far as to suggest tone is in the angles, but....

Looking at the pic, I hope the G string isn’t flat, there’s no more room to bring it forward. Likewise I hope the E string isn’t sharp, not much room to take it back any further. Also looks like the G and D strings aren’t down in the saddle grooves, but that might just be the way the photo was taken. Sure is a pretty bass though and in darn good shape for one that age. The trans red finish gives a hint of the grain underneath, looks like a solid mahogany body. One of these days I’d like to try one of the vintage embassy basses. Maybe when I move in with Donnie. ;)
Maybe Scott will release one of his Badbirds to you. Problem solved.

I use angled plugs at the bass end (except for basses that require a straight plug, like some Soundgear models), and straight at the amp.

This is just for my personal ease of use, I've found I'm less likely to damage something on the guitar end without a straight plug sticking out to bang into things, etc.; for the amps, at least those I have now, an angled plug either won't insert fully (due to amp design, usually) or interferes with amp controls, and is less easy to un-plug.

Same here.

I’ll try it. But I really don’t mind the ads with the hot girls. YMMV.

Angled ? If it involves geometry I'm not qualified to answer ! Depending on the guitar jack I end up using the angled end in the amp . Like for a strat. On the other hand it works well for the SG. It depends on the instrument.
Angled, top or side jack. Straight end to the amp w/ a 90 degree adapter into the top mount input. Cable through the top mount handle. Usual 'hi-def' pic.
