Thunderbird Club

I'll get us one...
I was looking at Frahlin's YouTube video and they compare by thickness, skinnier than Gibson's...I'm curious if they sound thinner than...Ox's sound was pretty piano-like at times, growly at others...
Stay tuned...
I think I’m going to try a set of Lollars in one of my Epis. Probably the Pelham Blue Limited Edition Custom Shop. It will be a snow day project this winter. I wasn’t sure Fralin still made his Tbird pickups. I’d be very interested to hear those.

The goal is different pickups in each Tbird (currently 8) except I’ll leave the Tbird Plus pickups in the short scale and the ‘13 NR. I’ll keep the standard Epi pickups in the Goth. The pickup placement is so different between the ‘13 and the short scale that they sound different even though the pickups are the same. The short scale has more “thump.”

Knowing the basses you have, Lollars are a good choice.
Either those or SD's.

Or be a cord cutter. Cheap and works great.

I have three Line 6 wireless G 30 sets and I use an angled cable to connect the transmitters to the bass. I also have a Xvive wireless set that is similar to your pic. All work great. I need another wireless set, but I’m afraid to go cheap.

The wonderful Xvive set now sells for 2 1/2 times more than what I paid for mine. Have you had any issues with yours?

Thanks Jeff. I’ve pretty much decided to order a set of the Lollars once I finalize the job situation. The sort scale will get a Babicz. I’ll also probably will be adding a cab for the new music room at the retirement house and possibly another head to go with it. I’m certain about the cab. We’ll have to see about the amp. I want the music room done before I retire. Gear purchases, if any, will be few and far between after that. And you can come and play anytime. I’ll pick you up at Burbank or LAX. There is a bed in the music room with your name on it.

No, surprisingly, they sound great. No hum, no delay, though I am typically only 6' or so away from the receiver. 4.5 rating on Amazon and 93% are 3 stars or higher. I charged them in July and haven't had to since.

I think these were around $40, and I've had no problems. They stay charged about 8 hours maybe more (use time). I think the range is 75ft. I've not gone that far, but I've noticed no latency.
