I find It kind of funny you enjoy LSUG yet change the station when the Boss comes on.

I've just never been a Springsteen fan. I like Little Steven's musical efforts better. I've heard that Springsteen puts on a great live show. I'll take other people's word for that.

True. My Dad had to quit the rehearsal big band when a stroke cost him the vision in one eye. He could see the notes OK, but repeat signs, key changes, etc. were nearly impossible.

Which one, ever hear the original singer? I prefer the original who died in 1980.

I do prefer Bon's voice. I think Brian did about as well as anyone could have hoped for trying to sound "kind of" like Bon, which people came to expect with them. I will say, that Brian seems like a heck of a good bloke with no ego. Someone you'd like to be neighbors with. He even said one that his "singing" is screaming not singing. No doubt trying to fit the AD/DC sound.

I should add about Angus’ “costume” in that clip. It was probably a couple of years earlier that an Aussie company Bonds (I think) released “Convict Pyjamas” for kids / maybe teens (I had some!) playing up the Australiana colonial days thing and that was what Angus is wearing. Pyjamas!

It was a thrill seeing this song and film clip on tv as a kid. We all picked the convict pyjamas thing straight up. See what Angus is wearing!

The other thing was it was pretty big budget for an AC/DC shoot up to then (still cheap as I bet). They didn’t get an effects guy for the explosions, but someone had a mate ‘who knew this stuff’. He turned out to be in demolition or something!

Good story. I was wondering what the heck he had on.

Funny story...maybe scary story about the demo guy doing effects!

Could you wire in 3? 72, 47, 22 (whatever they are) and a 0,1,2,3 rotary selector? 0 being no time in the circuit, 1=22, 2=47, 3=72 say????

Is that what the old EBs varitones had?

EBs had capacitors and a choke coil, but yes you can definitely do that.

From The Sensational Alex Harvey Band

Alex Harvey was Bon Scott's hero. Both were Scottish-born rock'n'roll journeymen who found late success with younger bands. Each set fire to their respective corners of the world stage, then went down in the flames in the cold dawn of the early 1980s.

Only the Aussie outfit lived on to become a household name. But AC/DC had one distinct marketing advantage. They hadn't named the band after their singer.

That band is still one of my favs today.
