No silks. At least not the set I have. I might have an early set. It's been years since I've played their Powerwounds, but these DEs seem bright compared to other NPS I have tried. Close to steels. Well, in between steels and NPS might be more accurate. They are not as stiff as the same set in steel. They were $14 shipped, so I thought why not. They were OK on the NR, but great on the Jazz.
Yes, steel or NPS. I think they have a smaller outer winding (I think) and feel pretty nice. I've seen conflicting descriptions of them so I'm not sure sure what is true. SIT really should hire someone who knows how to use words to describe their produces. Some of their descriptions are (should be), embarrassingly simple and unhelpful. There are new fusion wound sets.
Description from their store but not the product page:
"These SIT David Ellefson Signature Series nickel strings were specifically selected and gauged by David Ellefson for his professional touring and recording needs. They offer a super smooth, slinky feel as wellas [sic] anoticeable [sic] upper mid-range punch not found in other strings."

You’re moving some serious air with those. I have a soft spot for Traynor as that is what I frequently rented when needed in the seventies. Solid gear.
it's just a 2 x 35Watt HiFi stereo power amp.....the sockets are to provide access to allow for a voltmeter connection to adjust bias without having to open the unit....Dynaco made a really nice preamp for this unit as well which I yet don't have....it'll run from any audio source adequately however..
