Thunderbird Club

Off topic, but I’ll post something bass related later.
My wife made some PJs for Eddy:

From what I could see on his IG, he might've gotten it that way from Gibson, as he also has a second NR that's black with what looks like a black pickguard :wideyed:

Still no pic.

No Tbird logo on the guards, so I’m assuming they’re aftermarket. But that black on red looks sharp.

Thanks, was a wonderful day yesterday and it’s been a pretty good 38 year run as well.

that looks like a burgundy 21nr with a pickguard change…. Looks good…

Might even look good with a non-7ender tort…

Whenever New Order were asked to do chart show appearances, they always insisted on playing live for real.

That sometimes ended up in disaster, as most of those said chart shows lacked the facilities to let a band play live. Their disastrous performance of “Blue Monday” on Top Of the Pops is good example of that. It went wrong because the sound people of Top Of the pops having no idea on how to do a live mix and the band members couldn't hear each other at all.

THIS performance however shows what happened when the performance went right.

Note also that Bernard Sunmer is playing Peter Hook's Yamaha bass. And not just any of Hookie's Yamaha basses, it's the Sunburst one from the “Love will tear us apart” music video. A bass that got stolen during New Order's first American tour and Hookie had to replace it with a rather famous and Iconic Red one.

well.. other than the drums being so loud and the vocals being buried in the mix...

Off topic a bit (kinda) - my daughter just changed jobs and needs to move to Nashville. Any insight on areas of the city that are better than others for an apartment search would be greatly appreciated.

Since I’ll probably help her relocate, I’ll be sure to try and swing a Gibson factory tour or visit, maybe even pick up a Tbird or something.

PM me if you have apartment info, don’t want to derail the thread.

Yeah, other than that, their performance was tight and rocking.

(Although I don't like how bloodless the Guitar and Basses sounded. But then again, that's how New Order always sounded.)

This is some of my favorite live New Order. I wonder if Bernie was trying to sound more like Ian Curtis early on.

Fun trivia: My running team had a holiday at the same place once. It was open bar and we pretty much cleaned out the beer supply and they told us we drink too much.

If we're gonna derail.......
But we always do.

May i ask?
Is she your daughter in your avatar?

There's no heart emoji here.
LOL - I think you have my post and Willys posts crossed up. My daughter is the one moving to the Tbird capital of the world. Willy’s daughter (or the cute young one in his avatar) is no relation to me (that I’m aware of). That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

I wondered the same thing.

Not at all G.
And i got that.

I meant exclusively W's avatar.

If i missed something, which i usually do....
I stand corrected.
