Thunderbird Club

I admit to having a soft spot for Javelins. One of the best looking cars ever made.

On the way to the Vet there is either a blue AMX with no engine or hood setting back in some tall grass. Might be a Javelin, but almost certain it's an AMX, but it's difficult to tell driving by. Just setting there rusting away.....
:bawl:

A buddy of mine had this.
We were just punk kids, one day he drove up to my place to go see Zappa at one of the '77 shows.
The sound of it was monstrous.
His had a 390.

My brother had a '68 AMX with a 343 and 4-speed. It was a whole lot of fun. It was a bit ratted out, but not to the point it couldn't be made whole. It probably wouldn't have taken all that much work to get it sorted. He sold it to buy a Jetta. Go figure.

For what it's worth, I'm currently on the Yucatan Peninsula, in a part of Puerto Morales inland from the coast. The neighborhood is called La Colonia by the locals. It's fun being here. The area is full of all kinds of sounds, smells, and color. It's also really hot and humid.

There's no way a musical instrument would last long here in the heat and humidity, though. Not that I would take a Thunderbird on a plane without an armored case I don't own.

Oh I don’t know. I just to see one around locally that someone had converted to RHD. I’d call it “striking” rather than ugly. Mind you it seemed twice as big as the local cars, and half of the trucks!

Only ever saw a Chevy Monza as a sports sedan racer here running a worked 350.

All the US don’t divisions got one of those didn’t they? Chev Monza, Buick Skyhawk, Pontiac ?, Olds (was it Sunfire?)

Olds Starfire, they resurrected that name from a full sized Olds, I had one, 1962 Olds Starfire with a 394 4 barrel, buckets, tach, it was a cool car. I had it during the first "gas crisis" (1973?) and it really sucked down the gas.

Running away from home is no way to deal with Thunderbird addiction and GAS. It's not a disease, it's a lifestyle we just have to accept and embrace as one of the chosen.

Be safe.
