Thunderbird Club

The Epiphone Vintage Pro Thunderbirds were offered in alpine white, and now none of the retailers offer them in white. Was that color discontinued? Did Epiphone run out of white paint? Did the white Epi's compete too much with the Johnny Winters 'birds? Seems like white is the most popular color. Is there a story behind why it's no longer available?

Those pesky white ones............
I really don't have an answer tho, white Thunderbirds are the bomb.

Harp King
six 10” speakers
100 watts and its purple! Runs on two KT90s. Rod Piazza helped design them back in the late 90s. They only made less than 100. They stopped making them around 2006. They are the Dumble amps of harp amps. Highly sought after and pricey. This particular one is serial #4 and used to belong to Bruce Willis. Tone to the bone!

Whoa!!!!

Here's a track from a just released album of ours. I used my red Telebird on it, both pickups on.

And here's another. I used the two pickup Telebass on it. I'm particularly proud of the two little bass fills or lines in the end which just happened. I propably just thought "what Chris Squire would have played here?"

 Yeah! Good stuff.

no, belongs to a friend who likes these boutique type amps….won’t tell me what he paid for it lol….pretty sure he got rid of stuff to get it….very LOUD making it finally possible for the harpist to duel with blasting Marshalls…..
6 x 10” drivers….just 2 short of a fridge! for harp!…
their claim is you can crank all 100 Watts of usable power because of the voicing and feedback reduction circuitry..

Greco Thunderbird owners, would you describe the neck profile as a C or D? Has anyone measured the thickness at 1, 3, or 5? I bought a caliper yesterday to measure my favorite necks (and those I don't like/play).
Thickness at 1 is .835”
Thickness at 3 is .910”
Thickness at 5 is .975”

Just so we’re all talking the same language in neck shapes, looking at the chart below I’d say the Greco has a “C” shape neck…

Brilliant, thanks so much! BTW, measured at the dot or just in front of the dot?

Measured at the fretting position, caliper set up against the back of the fret wire (not on top of the fret, not on the dot, not just in front of the dot). Also importantly, all the measurements were from the center of the width of the fretboard to the center of the back of the neck, so it accounts for max fretboard radius vs measuring at the edge of the neck.

The bass measured was my 1990 Greco IV. It’s the more common Greco on the used market. If you’d like I can measure my 1977 Greco II but you don’t see many of those on the used market.

Please do, looking at an 80's Greco. BTW, Doh, meant just in front of the fret
