Thunderbird Club

Joining the black pickguard with gold Thunderbird logo club.

Overstock in Singapore had one I watched, then they sent a reduced price (to US$29) offer so I took the risk and jumped on it.
<fingers crossed>

Pickguard For Gibson Thunderbird w Accurate Screen Gold Logo - Black | eBay

Count me in. I rolled my own. Cut it out and added a vinyl transfer. Love it on the black bird a lot more than the white scratchplate.

I was noodling a bit on my new NR this evening, getting acquainted, and it struck me how comfortable it is. It just sits so well and easily shifts back when I need to reach the first frets. It's a longer reach than other basses, but it doesn't stay glued in one position like my P. Picking Carol Kaye style let's me rest my arm comfortably on the upper part of the body, and access to the higher frets is great. I haven't weighed it, i never do, but it feels quite light compared to the P. Maybe it's because it moves so freely. And the high gloss painted neck doesn't feel sticky at all, even though I tend to prefer satin necks. Still in the honeymoon phase, I suppose, but this looks like a lasting relationship.

They are even sweeter out in the wild.
I think the one that you have is the best color of the bunch.
