Thunderbird Club

Circa 50 euros, 100 tops. TC MojoMojo is in that price range and Spark Booster too. I'm not too crazy about MXR stuff, at least about their pedals for bass but I will check the Crazy Tube out.
And as I said, the Monkey sounds great and the SD compressor made it even better. That is the kind of overdrive sound I prefer. Hmmm, I think I should form a band where I could use that sound all the time.

I don't have one, but keep looking that the EBS Valve Drive. From clips online the distortion sounds natural and not like some kind of musical buzz saw. I don't really want people to know there is distortion, but would like the fullness it can bring.

Apparently, Santa thinks 3 basses are all I need room for.

Santa is what is called high IQ stupid or needs to lay off the eggnog.

(If we're talking about Mrs. Stealth, I never said that will will blame Russian hackers for those words.)

There is that whole good boy thing that may have had an impact....

So...
NBD(actually, Saturday, 12/24). It arrived just as I was loading the van to go to Orlando for family [stuff]. Oh, well, it got 48+ hours to acclimate b4 I came home today. Unboxed it ~an hour ago and f---ed* with it some. Definitely different from the 67NR(or the '09 Epi EB-0, '95 Gibson LPB2/5, or Ibanez AGB200), plus it came with round wounds(ugh!). I have a brand new set of 50-105 EBCFs that'll go on it-once I decide if it's staying The neck is a whopping 1/8" wider(BFD)at the nut. I think I can handle it. Took the strap offa the NR-for now. Major length adjustment. Tone, especially with the round wounds, is prolly more typically "Thunderbird-y" than I go for, but those knobs-and the ones on my amp(s) do move.:smug:
Promised fuzzy pic:

Congrats! Looks great. Interested in a gig report.

Hi all, posting this in here, hope it's ok, but I want to wire one of my basses like the original Nikki Sixx Blackbird - two pickups, one on/off switch, no volumes, tone, etc...

Does anyone who has one of these know how the wiring works? Do I connect both pickups to the switch and then the switch to the jack? Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thank you
This is exactly the place to post this. I found this photo of the wiring of a Gibson Blackbird. Hope that helps. @Nocturnal has one, but his was previously rewired to standard VVT.

Well, WB albums aren't exactly heavy either. Hart's drums sound like paper at times. But I wouldn't change a thing.

Here's a clip from Finland 1987. I recall seeing an article in a Finnish mag about the band at that time and of course Greg's moustache stuck in my mind. I never heard their music until much later (I was 12 at the time).

Question, and I hope not to offend anyone are the bassist and guitarist hyper-active or high on drugs? Looks like they have fire ants up their pants/trousers...

Even i'm down to one bird since july. Gave the one i had built, named Tigerbird, to a friend of mine who 1-wanted a thunderbird bass, 2-wanted to get into bass playing. After the mods i had done, & hardware upgrade, it felt & played better than before. I'm glad he owns it, its getting much better use than it ever did. & i still own my heavily modified epiphone goth bird. Debating if i add a volume & tone control (perhaps in form of tone select switch vs a pot). Tbd.

If i built myself another bird, itd be all white with chrome pickups wired in series like the 70s.
Pics of the bass you gave away?
