Thunderbird Club

Hi,

I have a Epi silver burst Tbitd and I'm dropping Gibson pups in it, so wasn't looking for a new one. There is a black Gibson bird on auction starting at 500$ and has no bidders. The headstock was cracked and supposedly professionally fixed but not sure about bidding, especially if no one else has yet. Never bought a bass with a major repair before, so figured ask the Tbitd experts

I haven't seen the one you're looking at, I will say if the repair is well done that you don't have much to fear. Two of my '76s are repaired and were done by competent luthiers, they're solid, no issues.

Shellfish (oysters, mussels, prawns, crabs, the whole bloody lot) make me very very ill. Not life-threatening, but wish-I-was-dead for a few hours.

I'm deathly allergic to all seafood, just like my kid. Guess I'm not going to Japan anytime soon. I also saw a Greco bird from a Japanese store for 470$. Just read about the importing rosewood issue, so not sure about that. Of course as soon as I'm not looking, find deals

No shrimp on the Barbi for you!

When you pass thru Seattle we'll take you and your husband some place nice that doesn't have shellfish on the menu :D

That's a shame. You are stuck with things like jellied eels and the like. Except you are in Oz, so you are stuck with Vegimite or whatever that inedible stuff people think is food.

Eel is disgusting.

Vegemite is for proper Aussies. I was reduced to consuming it in the period known as 'Marmageddon'.

That's a pretty rare Studio Thunderbird, if you think the repair is good that's a killer bass

Not sure I could handle eating eel. Guess I just like my boring food. I love my chili dogs, and not just for breakfast, either.

Oh, I do have a Thunderbird so I'm not technically trespassing here.

Everybody's welcome :) Do I have you on the club roster?

Can I be listed here in the cool kids club. Using my bird more than p basses every day

A pic of your 'Bird is all that's required - the hazing ceremony is voluntary :)

I do have a picture of my tbird. I don't even remember taking it.
