Thunderbird Club

Poutine. Have eaten the US made variant and it was very good IMO.

Dyslexia got the better of me there, I thought you meant pooteen the Irish hooch (not the legalised bath water that's sold in shops). I was thinking "eat it?" must need some more distilling! Hellish stuff, melts plastic cups and strips some paints :roflmao:

I read that pretty quick too and I was thinking that even the worse "piece" I got was still pretty good! :D

So I inherited a fender neck and have always wanted to build a fenderbird. My ebay and local searches have only turned up complete, working thunderbirds. Before I pull the trigger on one I'd check here to see if any of you have a spare epiphone body you'd be willing to part with.

Keep checking enay/cregslist. They pop up from time to time.

And don't forget the breakfast slopper - open face 3/4 pound cheeseburger on a bed of steak fries with fried bacon and eggs on top smothered in chili and cheese. My Doctor called it "Cardiac Arrest on a Platter" and asked that I stop eating it. :rollno:
Got a new Doctor instead, problem solved. :hyper:
I was watching a TV program that came on after the local news last week which is generally the only TV we watch these days, it was about a Scandinavian devised diet which is based on high fat and low carbs. Sounded complete madness which is why we watched it but not so; in the face of most medical advice it seems that it is a viable healthy diet on a long term basis. The sample in question on the program lost 14lbs over a 3 week trial and lowered cholesterol from 5.6 to 4; it can reverse some types of diabetes apparently too.

That appeals to me, I love a fry up in the morning, call it health food and I'm on side

Id forgotten to post the picture of the badge on the back of the headstock/neck . And a picture of the Neotech strap showing where the widest part is . Apparently I got the 'Bass' strap but I should have got the Mega Axe strap ! Go figure . They seemingly designed the strap for bass players who like it under the chin . I dont think Ive ever seen a T bird up under someones chin before , its not very Rock n' roll ;). They will swap it if I send it back to the point of purchase .

Up till I got laid off last May I was working for a company that manufactures nylon load bearing gear. I took my Neotech to one of the stitch bitches and had her sew on some longer webbing. My strap is almost too long now. LOL! I added about 6" more webbing to each end. Cost of the webbing in that length was pennies and it cost me a favor to have it sewn, but to have a seamstress do it would be just a few bucks. You do need a machine that can do heavyweight nylon thread, not the cotton stuff used for clothing. Mine was sewn with TEX 70, which is the normal weight for stuff like parachute harnesses.

Yep... been eating like that for 5 years and all my medical conditions and concerns cleared. Doctor is thrilled... no meds... I've never felt better. Carbs kill.

You should try chips and cheese mate. No finer gutter food to be had after a night out on the hoy in Edinbvrgh. With broon saas too, none of that ketchup malarky.

trans: a box of chips with grated cheese, raw onion and HP sauce is excellent fare if you have been out on the piss in the Athens of the North.

Mmmm HP sauce! Goes with just aboot anything! ;)

all those neotech are too short - nowhere near 154cm straplock to straplock

If I put it near enough right out then its long enough for me at my waist , but the widest part starts , well right at the start as you can see in the pic . Its kinda pointless and as I told them , why on earth not just make it wide all the way through ? Its pretty pointless . Ive got an extra long Levis leather strap if I want it way low but with the arthritis I need it up a bit .

Are you sure that was a complete translation? :roflmao:

They did a small run of them a few years ago.
I read somewhere they were not keen on doing them because of complaints about yellowing of the finish over time. Rickenbacker doesn't deal well with complaints from what I hear.
Mine's Mapleglo.
Keep it up guys and I'm gonna have to add a Ric to my Gibby 2015Tbird and Gibby NR Bird GAS list.
By the end of January it will have been one full year since I've purchased a bass. For me, that's a record, I'm typically buying 3 or 4 per year. The GAS is nearing epic proportions and you guys aren't helping. ;)

GAS is real. I have to stop too. Hopefully next year about this time I can say it's been 1 full year... Just order another today. :):woot::bassist: I might be certifiable at this point. Or, incurable.
