Thunderbird Club

Maybe bring a Rickenbacker back into the fold? :)

A 4001 would be great, I really miss my old '73, selling it was really a dumb move on my part. There are some other Gibsons I'd like as well, not for my band - just to play at home or possibly post "Nasty Habits".

Just remember to steer clear of those ones that just go THUD !!! :D;)

The G-3 reissue that's in the Gibson Bass book spent some time at my house before I shipped it off to Uwe, what a cool bass! That, a Les Paul Oversize and an EB-3.

I have been playing the upright so much that I don't have too much urge to buy another bass. Plus there are the projects. Does finishing a project count? Funny thing is that if I sold off some bass guitars, I could probably have another upright, all set up for rockabilly slap, with the kind of clicky pickups and feedback killers I don't have now. But that's not going to happen because I'm perfectly happy with one big fat violin. Same with the drum kit. I have two of them, play them a lot, and don't want any more. Bass guitars? There's never enough. There's a moral to that story somewhere, but I'm not sure what it is.

For what its worth, I had a really nice Ric 4003 for a couple years. I played it a lot and liked it, but it didn't tell me I had to keep it. Then I got another one in a trade and thought maybe it was a sign, but that one went, too. I haven't ever let go of a Gibson, and only let go one Epiphone. It's not intentional, but they just never leave once they are here.

I liked the gold Casady ... for the 15 minutes I spent on it. If I had a five bass limit that would be slot 5.

I tried one of those in my quest for a semi-hollow body. It plays really well, and that transformer that changes the impedance of the pick up can really generate some great sounds. It is physically much larger than other semi-hollow bodies, but that probably accounts for the great sound. I keep looking and wondering if I need another semi-hollow body. Of course, I continue to wonder if I need another Thunderbird too. I'm not planning on buying another bass, but if the right one came along...

Gotta live near the ocean. I need me my shellfish, especially Oysters. Raw, straight out of the water.

Guess you won't be shooting blanks! :roflmao:
