I play 75% pick/palm-muting which has developed into my signature sound/tone. I say 'signature' because I don't hear a lot of players sounding like that, especially local live bands/bass-players. Definitely goes back to Carol Kaye and so many of those classic '60s songs bass parts.
This sounds like a P-bass from the tone or possibly a hollow-body, but I love it's presence in the mix and pick attack. It might be Herbie Flowers, but there's conjecture about exactly who the bass player was on that session according to Scott's reflection on this song.
