Hopefully the Forestry Service is a bit more lax in your area, but a friend of mine that has about 1000 acres in Santa Barbara county got a pretty strong warning and threats of hefty fines when he was doing some fallen tree clearing (for fire season). Apparently, in that county you aren’t allowed to fall any dead trees on your property (rural area, not subdivisions) and if they come down on their own you aren’t allowed to clear them. The forestry service has to be contacted first, then they have to determine if the tree should be downed or cleared (takes up to 6 months to get an answer), and they have to be the ones that do it, you get to pay the bill. So much for being concerned about wild fires.
Been there, done that! My best sounding Fender bass is a pine body. It’s heavier than you’d think. It has monstrous lows (Greco territory and then some) ok top end but not bright by any definition. It’s a reggae and dub king. I do have distant plans to duplicate it in a pine thunderbird body but that’s at least a year out from now.
