I’m thinking 08 will seem like a cake walk compared to what’s coming in the next two years. Seriously, 08 had virtually no impact on me. I was gainfully employed and very very well compensated. Now that I’m retired and on a fixed budget I expect to feel the pain. I guess the best plan is to be as debt free as possible. That and have plenty of basses to burn as firewood to heat the house. I should be ok on that front.

I was just getting by in '08. The floor fell in for me. Scheduled painting jobs were cancelled and I was left scrambling for employment to pay rent. I had to cut my hourly wage in half to keep working/bring income in. Those people who employed me then got a very good deal ~

I agree about debt - and since then I only own a debit card. (no cc - no credit - no debt)

What's the best bass for firewood? (yah, I know... a 7ender bass...)

Legendary Australian ARIA Hall of Fame singer Renee Geyer (69) has died after hip surgery.
IMO She was bloody good. Such a shame 69 isn’t that old.

Australian soul singer Renee Geyer dies aged 69

“Throughout her career, Geyer became a sought-after vocalist, working with Sting, Joe Cocker and Chaka Khan, among others.”
Wow, nothing to like there. Sure hate to hear that.

My methodology - I can’t play good, I can’t sound good, I can’t even look good, but my equipment sure looks sweet.
I seriously doubt the first two, but maybe with the right shade of lipstick you can reach two out of three. You do have some nice lookin' boots, so there's that! :D

In my case a head transplant would be needed for the looking part. I'm just thankful my good looking wife is apparently blind and thinks I'm hansom. Could just be self-induced delusion.

Craftsman were scrambling in 08 to keep the doors open. I was on the receiving side of that when I commissioned a custom wrought iron and brass banister for $5k. A year earlier a friend paid $11k for a similar project in stain grade wood.
