Thunderbird Club

and interestingly, him (and Graham) get credited as the first slap/pop cats….

Doug Rauch was one of the first too. Did it differently as he used the double thumbing technique.

Ha!!!, was at all 6 shows.

I. hate. you.

O'Hearn on fretless Jazz Bass?

The white one came out very nice!
Creative solution on the bridge too.

Thank you! The bridge was one of the many challenges...the vintage style bridge I had originally ordered, the bridge anchors were too wide for the holes, and I didn't want to drill them out. I returned the bridge, and got the hipshot 2 post version. I was able to use standard bridge anchors, but the bolts they provided weren't the same thread - which explains the solution there. The other tough one was the control cavity cover - I attempted to create a makeshift one by cutting up an old pickguard. It's not pretty, and pretty misshapen, but it works and my son helped decorate it for me.

White bird Wednesday!

Thanks! I've thought about swapping TRCs on them so the black one would have the white border. Finding Epiphone TRC's seems to be a challenge.

I have a white no-name Thunderbird TRC I won't use that I can send you. It's not classic white, more like egg-shell I guess, so it might match or not. I have to run off to a business meeting, but PM if you're interested, I could probably ship it tomorrow.

I imagine they were all sitting around in the studio when they recorded the last album. Vig was the producer. David Lynch’s name came up. As it often does with a lot of L.A. artists. Someone, probably Vig, said “you know, David has a painting made of flies eyes.” And the frivolity began. They must have had a blast doing that video.

Thanks! I definitely appreciate the offer, but I actually like the epiphone branding - something about a blank TRC looks off to me.

I suspect there’s a few folks on here that might be interested in a detailed run down of the issues you found in replacing the VP two point bridge and how you solved those.
It does look sharp!
