I left Sky after 1 yr and started my own photography business but I still do work for friends and family as well as the few others that I dont even advertise for . I have a good rep for leaving tidy work and being both reliable and reasonably priced . Its the best thing that could have happened , but I still curse that winter for many reasons .

That sounds stunningly familiar. I managed construction projects for years until the last recession drove me out of it. Now I do technical consulting for disputes. It's a whole lot of fun, actually. Lots more fun that I was having before. Plus, it's stable, where construction just isn't and never will be.

Not long enough to really figure it out. That's my tool using CroMagnon opinion, and I'm sticking to it. At least until the book shows up. I ordered it, too. I have been doing a hack setup on my instruments for way too long now. Time to do it right for a change.

How do the Lull's compare to the Gibsons?

Maybe a 212, but vertically aligned, for height. 215s would work too.

An interesting question - hard to answer.
Realistically, the Lull is light years better in terms of fit, finish overall quality of the build, pickups etc.,etc. Which should be expected as it's not a mass produced instrument like Gibson, so nothing unusual there. Mine plays, looks and sounds great.
I have 5 Gibsons, 3 '76s, an '89 and a Nikki Sixx Mk.II, each, in their own way is unique as production instruments always are. The '76s are very different due to their pickup design (and production variation), they're big, with large headstocks and tuners, and the ability to produce a huge clanky, angry piano tone, playing one is like driving a muscle car, using a pick yields a tone no other bass has - including the Lull. The other two Gibsons have Lull pickups in them, I wanted the tone of an early '60s original Thunderbird in a modern bass that I could take out to a show and not worry about losing/destroying an expensive vintage one. The Gibsons just have some very endearing idiosyncrasies that I really like, so like the saying goes "my favorite bass is the one I'm playing now"

I've got a K212, I think it fantastic. Haven't gigged it yet, but I have had it cranked pretty well in the old basement.
It's a great value cab that sounds awesome.
I think a lot of people don't like the looks, I think they're cool.
