Never apologize for enabling Geo. It’s what we do.No affiliation and sorry if I'm enabling... but this pristine '66 NR is worth ogling over. You'd be hard pressed to find another (w/OHSC) is better condition.

Well. That explains the "alien" thing("Armenia, City in the Sky"-the Who).Understood Dave.
And i can relate being of Armenian decent.
"Spring has sprung,Yep. Unfortunately we’re not so blessed. And my son didn’t come up to help because he has to pick up my wife at LAX on Monday and didn’t want to risk getting snowed in. So I did it all by myself. My back is killing me. I can hardly move. But the chore is done and the wood will stay dry. It has been really cold this winter. Much colder than last year. We went through a cord + between late October and mid January. And we use the wood as County registered supplemental heat to our propane forced air system. The joys of being at 6,000 feet. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
So we have an Emmy Award winner amongst us. Awesome!
Great Thunderbird! I bet is sounds awesome.
I use the Music Nomad Fring polish and have the kit. You can by tubes of the polish separately. Works well, won’t mess with pickups like steel wool can and won’t harm the fretboard. I tape the board off anyway before using and use the supplied fret thingies (three in the kit; I don’t know what they’re called). It takes a bit of time, but is kind of a therapeutic exercise. Excellent results.I went ahead and requested a refund thru PayPal. The seller had over three weeks to at least acknowledge the sale so pretty safe bet he is no longer selling.
That is a beauty!!
Unfortunately not I don't know the exact year. Rob Van den broek is the person to ask.I’m proud to have it Scott. It is a wonderful Thunderbird. And still in great condition. It’s nice, thanks to George, that we kept it in the family. Do you know what year it is?
They don’t really, just warmer than we’re used to. Having consumed many pints of Scottish Ales over the years in pubs in Scotland, I can tell you they have the temp dialed in. But the English, well…..they need to figure it out.
Thank you Scott. I have a PM thread with him and will ask. I wasn’t aware until now he was the BaCh authority.Unfortunately not I don't know the exact year. Rob Van den broek is the person to ask.
Bob Mould's band Sugar did a cover of that.Well. That explains the "alien" thing("Armenia, City in the Sky"-the Who).
I'll keep it in mind. Left-hand conversion is a big process; not one I'm keen to repeat. Thanks Ken. FWIW, you would love the neck. It’s awesome. You might just want to try and pick one up and convert it. Get a II. You can always swap the pickup. But you would have a completely different bass to complement your arsenal.
I’m really happy I got this one.
Now that’s funny.Joined a company in the mid 80s. I was introduced to senior staff, including the head of quality. Asked him where he previously worked given his English accent. He said Lucas Electric…I couldn’t help the short laugh.
He got Bach to build these. If I remember right I helped with some details along with others.Thank you Scott. I have a PM thread with him and will ask. I wasn’t aware until now he was the BaCh authority.
Ha! Yes, but not for acting or anything.
I ended up taking the pickups out of that thunderbird to put into this one. The neck on the bolt bird is pretty bowed, and I think the truss rod nut is stripped. I’ll see about possibly getting it fixed although buying another used one might cost the same!View attachment 4952111
Yes they do. And thanks to George, I now have one. And we kept this one in the family. They seem to get snapped up pretty quickly!
I did. And recall thinking the neck was nice and may have said as much. But frankly, once I heard the Thunderbird with the Lulls, that’s what I was focused on.They are really good basses, I agree!
Didn't you play Chucky's at the GTG?
It is a great Thunderbird. Start setting your sights on one and keep an eye out. You will not be disappointed.I love that bass!
And I’m glad you did.Yeah, when mine came up for sale on the GC used gear site it was listed as an Epic Firebird. I realized what it was and pulled the trigger immediately, didn’t take time to even confirm what it was.
