Thunderbird Club

I did. And recall thinking the neck was nice and may have said as much. But frankly, once I heard the Thunderbird with the Lulls, that’s what I was focused on.

We really need to do another GTG., including Rosa and Frank.

If some of fine folks from California and elsewhere want to travel, I can host a GTG at my house - there is a reasonably stocked (at this point) bar here  and about 14 basses. That said, Frank and I have already talked about another trip if the fine folks in California wish to see us there :)

I've yet to visit Seattle but I won't be driving and flying with a bass is something I don't do anymore. (expensive and risky) But with 14 basses in-the-house, I'm sure that won't be a problem. :bassist:

I’m up for that, given plenty of notice. Seattle isn’t that big of a drive. If I don’t bring any basses, I can fly up gratis, courtesy of JetBlue. I want to see your trains.

You and Frank are welcome here anytime. The mountain house a great place. Take the Frazier Park exit near the top of the grapevine off I5, head west 19 miles and you’re here. The basement music room will be coming together as soon as the carpet and other repairs are done which should be by the end of April. There is an SVT VR with 610 Berg cab, and the Mesa TT 800 with the Subway 410 will be coming up when the work is completed. No neighbors.

Thanks Ken. FWIW, you would love the neck. It’s awesome. You might just want to try and pick one up and convert it. Get a II. You can always swap the pickup. But you would have a completely different bass to complement your arsenal.

I’m really happy I got this one.

If your Bach is the same generation as mine was, I received mine around May/June 2009. It was right when my daughter was graduating High School. My Bach was the thin-bodied version. The neck was fantastic on that bass!!

When I bought my '64II in '78 - it was in similar "closet classic" condition. I still have its OHSC, but I would have much preferred one like that '66 is in.

Minutes after it arrived from NJ to Chicago, where I had just moved to - August '78

Same bass, same strap, same GEO..."a little older.., a little more confused".

Hi to all of my friends here. I am caught up as of now.

I just learned that our team leader for the large loss cases I work on will be out for a minimum medical leave of at least four weeks. I apologize if my attendance here will be spotty. I have not disappeared.

Please PM me for anything you want to reach me for. I will be checking those first when I’m available.

That’s the “Grapevine” I’m aware of. You mentioned Seattle being not that big of a drive. To me So Cal to Seattle isn’t a drive I’d want to do.

Funny, in my younger days, I’d make a last minute decision and hop on the road from SF to LA on a whim any given Friday night.

Same here - did many cross-country mondo drives in my 20's-30's - I drove from SF to Portland non-stop a couple yrs ago and it was brutal.

I have always loved driving, and the freedom of being able to. On a daily basis I do a lot of driving, alone, going to jobs or service calls, and although it can be tedious, it is great time to get to listen to music, so I get to listen a lot. HOWEVER, after decades of this, I find I don’t want to drive any more than I have to….
