Ogden Nash was brilliant. We need more Ogdens."Spring has sprung,
Fall has fell,
Winter is here, and
It's colder than...last winter"-O. Nash
I still enjoy road trips. Sharon and I routinely drive together or solo (her more than me since she retired and I haven’t) the 1000+ miles each way from here to Augusta, GA. Sometimes farther. We usually do each direction in two days, though I have done it in one(not recently). Our trip from San Francisco to Seattle last year was a blast.Same here - did many cross-country mondo drives in my 20's-30's - I drove from SF to Portland non-stop a couple yrs ago and it was brutal.
What?Yep. The closest house actually had the water company turn off the water at the main. I’ve met them once. A Century City entertainment lawyer. Nice enough, beautiful house, but they don’t come up here. I can crank the SVT as loud as I want.

We didn’t get any coupes or convertibles locally assembled, but some were available via certain dealers and converted to our rules when they arrived.
We didn’t get any local assembled Impalas until the 65 model as a 4 door hardtop, with the BelAir continuing as the pillared sedan. We didn’t get any V8s until the 1960 model, then it was the 283. When the Impalas came they were 327, even for the pillared sedan when it also became an Impala.
Our last model was the 1968 (beautiful cars) and they lasted on sale until 1970, the local cars had grown by then and had V8 options so they took over.
I’d still take a 68, 69, 70 1968 Impala in a heartbeat. Or it’s Pontiac Parisienne non identical twin.
Did 350 +/- 5 nights a week for ~23 years. Still love to drive.
I love driving, but after about 5 hrs I get fidgety even when driving and am tired of being stuck in a car (a plane is worse). When younger I could drive all day, but after 50 I was done with that.
How cool. Fighting in a barn, just like the old Western movies.Didn’t see any of those when I was there. Did see the recording studio, spent a bit of time in the barn rolling around in the hay loft with someone, and put some time in on stage with Chicago while they practiced for an up coming concert.
You know bears have ears too.Yep. The closest house actually had the water company turn off the water at the main. I’ve met them once. A Century City entertainment lawyer. Nice enough, beautiful house, but they don’t come up here. I can crank the SVT as loud as I want.
Reminds me of this:Sorry for quoting myself but I found this ad from the Sydney dealer that had an import license to go with the all dealer local assembly models. Most were imported from GM Canada but a few came from Tarrytown? NY.
Stack & Co used to screw a little metal “Stacks” badge onto the back of the Holdens and GM import cars that came through their dealership. I used to see them as a kid but didn't know what it as about.
1964s I think

If some of fine folks from California and elsewhere want to travel, I can host a GTG at my house - there is a reasonably stocked (at this point) bar hereand about 14 basses. That said, Frank and I have already talked about another trip if the fine folks in California wish to see us there

We can have a beer or three here.I'm might have a little issue that may prevent me from making it out this year.
Not health related.
Apartment hunting related.
No clue how it will all play out as of yet.
If i wasn't in this predicament, i'd have already bought plane ticket by now.![]()
Color me green with envy.Didn’t see any of those when I was there. Did see the recording studio, spent a bit of time in the barn rolling around in the hay loft with someone, and put some time in on stage with Chicago while they practiced for an up coming concert.
Did Miami to Jax straight through(350-ish)a few times. Many more times with one...uh, 'break'.Generally, I feel if I'm not driving at least an hour (other than local errands), it's not worth leaving the house for.
But, I can't do the "iron butt" thing anymore - two hours, maybe three, in one sitting is about all I can do without at least stopping to get out & walk around, stretch my knees out & such.
Lately, trips to Redding & back are about the longest trips I take in a night.

I hear you. It isn't easy being green.Color me green with envy.
Shoot. Looking for a place to live in the Big Apple was tough in the early 1980s and I'm sure it hasn't got any better. I wish you all the success you can find.I'm might have a little issue that may prevent me from making it out this year.
