Rents are always stupid high here.
But that's not the issue for my situation.
Boston rents are even ridiculous now, Worcester/Millbury Mass where I used to live is much higher now than when I last lived there too. We rent a large three bedroom condo out here for 500 bucks a month.
Quick question. I assume the volume pots on the VP are linear and not audio. Can anyone confirm?
B500kAfaik, should be standard audio taper? Should have a stamping like A500k or similar?
.......
Loved line-haul. At our company, that meant pull a wagon-or 2-point A to point B, drop-and hook, grab another one. NO unloading.![]()
B500k
I’d think you’d want a linear increase in volume unless you need a quick response while gigging.

Nope, not right.Update on the VP pot. Pulled the pot and heading to GC to get a replacement. While it was out, I put it back on the multimeter. It measures 500k across any two lugs regardless of where I spin the dial...that can't be right. Always 500k.
Never reads zero regardless of which lugs and pot turned full both directions. Reading bounces around but always ends at 550k.Nope, not right.
Should read zero with the knob turned one way and 500ish with it turned the other way, assuming you have your meter connected to the center lug and either one of the outside lugs.
In case you didn’t know, the difference between the two outside lugs is one lug is for right handed guitar layouts (while looking at the knob from the front of the guitar - clockwise turn will increase volume) the opposite lug is for left handed guitars. So be sure to solder the wires to the same lug orientation as your neck pot.
Ordering gets a little trickier, there are a number of options and configurations to account for. If you need help let me know and I’ll open up my VP to get the proper spec and send you an eBay link for the proper pot if you want.GC strike out. Going to have to order.

Pot specs…
Pot brand - CTS or Alpha (suspect CTS, need to confirm)
Pot size - dime or full size (suspect full, need to confirm)
Type A or B - should be a type A (audio taper)
Threaded bushing length - should be 3/8” long
Detent - should be none
Spline count - could be fine or coarse (I’d need to confirm)
