Thunderbird Club

Aussie Rules (AFL) is huge, has a 18 team comp plus finals series. Pro teams in 5 states.

Rugby League (NRL) is huge, has a 17 team comp plus final series, plus 3 match State of Origin series (NSW vs Qld) annually which dominates TV ratings. Pro teams in 3 states plus 1 in the ACT and 1 in Auckland NZ.

March to October is dominated by those two sports. RL also has some International matches after the domestic series has finished. The RL World Cup has over the last off season. Samoa runners up to Australia due to there being many many players of Pacific Islander descent in the NRL these days, nearly 50% of the player pool.
Where Union dominates is that it is much bigger Internationally.
Come on now, mate. Too many leagues and versions. At least we have the decency of just having NFL (XFL if you want to count it), not 4 versions of football. I'm never going to figure this out if you blokes don't streamline this game a bit.

This great German food is getting to be too much. You don't deliver to Kentucky by any chance do you?

Probably easier if you just fly me in and I could prepare it for you - I love to cook, especially when wearing a dress.:woot:

Oops!….thanks Geoff…
sorry @PillO and Stealth57…..;)

That looks a lot like a Guild Thunderbird, a Zal Yanovsky guitar, he was a great player.

Yep - based on the bass version from the '60s. It had two different hs shapes - I prefer this one (w/Hammond Darkstar pu), which is on my list of basses to eventually own. Monkee Peter Tork played the other hs version, with a different pu. They made a low-cost DeArmond JetStar bass also. Had one (it was decent) but traded for a Teisco De Rey.

The Guild Thunderbird guitar had a novel built-in guitar stand, but it toppled easily due to having a very tilted-back position due to the short post.

That's really cool! Please tell us more about it. What did these go into? Do you still have the 2009? Comparisons would be great.

Apologies that I wasn't clear, they are in the 2009! I used to have this Tbird, an American Standard P and a Ricky 4003. I ditched the other two a few years ago when we were putting together our first house deposit, but the Tbird is a lifer for me. I do miss the P sometimes.

I'm not quite happy with the setup yet (I also installed a HipShot Supertone and Ultralite Clovers), but I'll have a bit more of a fiddle and then record some samples.

I like that 2+2 headstock. Unique.

Hey you are missing Canadian Football. Used to be fun when the Roughriders would play the Rough Riders... 11 teams and they manage to have two with the same name. :rollno: I figured that they should just name every team some variation of the Roughriders.
