A few weekends ago; middle finger has a little uncomfortable pain that doesn't go away.
As there's a family history of arthritis and osteoarthritis, I consider myself forewarned.
When I go to sleep, put on this tape that relieves pain, I take it off at the end of the next morning.

Full pic ^

Personally, I would have it looked into. It could be a few things and if diagnosed correctly, a structured recovery regiment can be initiated. It seems odd it is only one finger - I crashed on a mountain-bike years ago and one of my fingers tendons was torn so it didn't respond to bending. I went to a hand specialist and they gave me a splint that eventually resulted in it healing. It may take a while - but it will heal. Just sayin' -

1. Don't take medical advice from strangers on the internet.
2. @JIO is correct. Seek medical care. There are a few possibilities. If you get it looked after properly, there can be a full recovery with little or no diminishment in function.

Both PhillO and I speak from personal experience. The accident that resulted in my fractured wrist had its one year anniversary two Friday's ago. The fracture was caused by a ladder fall and the trauma instigated a dormant carpel tunnel reaction, which lead to surgery. I'm still not 100% (CT-release surgery was done last October) but it most definitely is getting better. I was religious about following the guidelines the Dr/surgeon set and now months later, little-by-little it's recovering. He said it would be a full year before being close to full recovery, and that progress over that year would be incremental. So far he is correct. It could have been healing sooner, but the 1st x-rays of my wrist right after the accident showed no fracture. It was months later that another x-ray disclosed the fracture - and at that point a cast was put on my wrist.

Our hands as bass-players are everything - take care of your hands.

It’s amazing the stupid things we used to do and how by sheer dumb luck we didn’t kill anybody or ourselves.

I recall going to a retirement party at the Velvet Turtle in 1978 - I think it was in the south San Francisco or maybe north Silicon Valley area. I lived in South San Jose at the time. The retirement party had an open bar, I got well beyond hammered and to this day I have no recollection of driving home or how or when I got home.

All I know is I filled the gas tank in my 1965 Mustang on the way up to the event and the next day the tank was near empty. That means I would have driven about 200 miles on the ride home. I can’t even begin to imagine the 200 mile route I took to drive what should have been about 30 miles. Like Paul, I pretty much switched off the booze at that point for quite some time.
Or you were in first gear the whole way!

Gigged last night locally. Did the first set with the Les Paul Standard, next two sets with the CP. The CP is the clear choice: punch, presence, ergos and ease of playing, and it has the sound. Gotta watch the gain since I'm also using the SansAmp pedal, I still do like a clean signal in the mix.
But once again- even though I keep trying to test it- the Epi Thunderbird Classic Pro is my bass. The Les Paul will go the way of all things 'other'...
Oh yeah, that Peavey combo there, the one that looks like its been stored in a garage for 30 years... Got it for an embarrassingly low price and had it serviced for a song, and good gawd that tank delivers. 90 lbs of "Step Aside, Son". Clean, punchy, old school kick in the arse. Really great... Putting some side handles on it, lol...

I played my CP yesterday! As much as I love the sound of the Greco, there’s something about the CP (beyond the delightful playability). And, of course, white fit perfectly for Easter!

I feel i've asked this question long ago, but have no recollection :D How useful is the tone control on a thunderbird (mainly epiphone bolt on versions; IV, Goths, & the likes). I guess i could have the Classic Pro in the fold since its gibson bird pickups of the ceramic magnet kind. Been debating if i should add a Master Volume & tone back into my UnGothed Red/tree bird (been sporting a killswitch since 2012).

For a lot of classic rock style music, I just leave it at the bassiest position. But there are styles that want it turned up some amount. I use it just enough to have quit thinking about nuking it.
