Playing outside as I did yesterday in Pacifica (1st time playing outside for... decades!) was a trip. We didn't have a sophisticated sound-system (to say the least) so trying to understand how we sounded "out there" was a challenge. (one lone monitor for vocals) Everyone seemed to like our volume mix/levels, but on stage it was another story. Sometimes I felt I was too loud, while other times I felt buried in the mix. We got a good blend about a third into the set - where levels sounded optimal. It's rare we play outside - but I sorta' like it, and sorta' don't like it. "yah, but no"

I feel i've asked this question long ago, but have no recollection How useful is the tone control on a thunderbird (mainly epiphone bolt on versions; IV, Goths, & the likes). I guess i could have the Classic Pro in the fold since its gibson bird pickups of the ceramic magnet kind. Been debating if i should add a Master Volume & tone back into my UnGothed Red/tree bird (been sporting a killswitch since 2012).

I’d leave it for variety. The Epi Blackbird without the tone pot/cap (a previous owner added a volume pot) sounds a little different than the Goth, although no one probably notices it but me. Simplicity can be good.

Very nice - technically 'Gibson Gold-Top' - Shoreline was a Fender shade/hue. Just like Burgundy Mist Metallic (Fender) and Burgundy Mist Poly (Gibson/Epiphone) were similar.

I have the "Vert Der Ferk" on the back window of the gigmobile(upper left corner). Upper right corner has "Spaceballs-The Decal".

I also have "Spaceballs-The Hockey Jersey", "Spaceballs-The Baseball Jersey", "Spaceballs-The Hat", "Spaceballs-The Face Mask", and "Spaceballs-The Flask". I've seen other "Spaceballs-The(whatever)" items, but they're just silly.

Love the Gibson Gold Top finish on my Memphis ES LP. It’s quite a bit different than the Bullion Gold finish on my Anniversary Tbird (which I like even more). Interestingly enough, as Shoreline Gold ages the clear coat yellows a bit giving it a more traditional Gold color vs the sand/silver/gold blend it has when new. When trying to decide on finish colors I’ve found it very important to look at current examples of the color vs vintage.

Current Golden Mist Poly (Shoreline Gold Metallic) is kind of a taupe color…

Vintage Shoreline Gold Metallic that has yellowed with age is closer to a traditional Gold color…

I’m actually not as fond of the aged color.
