This picture was almost 40 years ago. Time moves quickly these days. No more dark hair..That’s for sure.
Like the Japanese Hai. Which, many times in business, means yes your sound waves have impinged upon my ear drums but there is no way we are doing business...
When I first tried it with the bridge pickup installed (which the bass builder himself grudginly wound and routed) its sound with both pickups on reminded me of a T-Bird.

The Firemist Gold Metallic finishes (by Pat Wilkins) are more like what they are calling "Gold-Top". I think Pat nailed it because it looks just like the FGM colour used on a late '60s GTO.
They were finished years apart - so are slightly different. The bass on the right was more recently finished and has a bit lighter hue. Neither look like what Warmoth is calling FGM.
That Fender Performer...man, it's a great looking bass.

I thought it was a general greeting or acknowledgement but it didn't have a negative connotation.
It depends on the situation. Polite yes that may or may not really mean yes.

Thanks - it's my 'Supersonic' that I designed/built 10yrs ago which was based on the '85 Fender Performer. I briefly owned a Performer that I bought to sell after doing restoration on it - they are very cool and I wish Fender would re-issue it.

The headstock in yours looks better.
That bodyshape would also look fab on an 8-string bass. Jazz or P look wrong but that or maybe the Bass VI style could work.

That may be a Fender Shaped Object, but it sure is the right color. What were we talking about?
A few weekends ago; middle finger has a little uncomfortable pain that doesn't go away.
As there's a family history of arthritis and osteoarthritis, I consider myself forewarned.
When I go to sleep, put on this tape that relieves pain, I take it off at the end of the next morning.

I like your rendition better. The headstock (almost Buzzard like) looks right at home with that body. The extended horn is always a good idea and the output jack and knobs dresses it up nicely. I’ve never played the Performer bass with the stock pickups, but they are a cool departure from the standard pup shape.

Thanks - I like the 'spear' shape of the original but I wanted something more reflective of the body horn shape. I only made that one but still have my drawings. I made it before ever holding an original in my hands so when I got the green one I traced that body shape. Mine has a longer upper horn (balances well) and a deeper elbow bevel but otherwise is similar.
People complain about the pu's on the original being anemic but I thought it sounded very good. It was passive but had the Fender TBX stacked-tone pot which added a modern tone from 6-10. The MIJ Performer was meant to be a "Deluxe" Jazz bass but got lost in the shuffle during the CBS back to Fender mid-'80s transition.

Thanks G! Here's the outline comparison on the tracing of the Fender Performer - mine was close considering I was just going from photos. The (Ibanez) knob bases are nickel-plated brass cabinet door-pull skirts which were inset into the clear acrylic pg that was sprayed on the bottom side. It's string-thru and the electronics/pu's are EMGX 9v active

The PA speakers crack me up. They look like old Kustom stacked 410 speakers. I got one of those for $10 some time ago. It turned out to be 210 and 212 speakers. The original speakers were blown and sounded awful. I figured putting bass drivers in the cabinet would turn it into an adequate small footprint bass cabinet, but it turns out to be a really good PA speaker. You don't see cabinets like that much.
