Same here. It has to be gold or bright blue or some other sparkly color. Blue sparkle would more or less match my drum kit. But, I don't have anywhere to put something like that, and my wife has made it very clear that my musical toys stay in the music room. No leaking out into the rest of the house. She's saving me from my own fool self by doing that.

Feel free to store it here. I'll even drive it every so often. They need that. Like cars.

Our high school owned a Kustom PA with the 2 4x10s. Or it could have been 2 6x8s? I don’t recall the amp rating. We only used it for vocs.

We were “good kids,” so the vice principal in charge of it let us use it when we played at the school dances. He would let us “borrow” it when he “wasn’t looking” for other gigs (other schools, church dances, etc.). If we couldn’t use that, we would have to drive down to Santa Barbara and rent a Traynor PA. Which was really good. I think it was $15.00 or $20.00 for 48 hours IIRC.

Yah, I rented a couple yr old '66 CAD J when in my high school combo. Same sort of deal, 24hrs for $15. I only needed it for one night.

If all else fails, Hollister isn’t all that far from you. If you do that, I will try to go up and have the wizard dial in the bias on the SVT. The SVT works fine, but I’m not seeing consistent green on the bias lights as described in the manual. I wish I hadn’t read the manual. My OCD is killing my sanity. Anyway, it would be good to see you again and catch up.

We'll see how it goes; but, I would like to get the "B" channel on my Mark IV looked at, at some point.....

I hardly play my three Fenders. But I would love to have that blue/green Performer.

It came in 5 colours ; pearl white (most have amber'd to a buttery yellow), burgundy mist metallic, dark teal metallic (amber'd to a dark hunter green, 3TSB, and the jade green metallic. I saw a BMM one for sale that had aged to a beautiful cinnamon shade. Wanted it but couldn't justify buying it.

There's a collector from Florida (on tb) who has one in each colour. I bought a missing knob from him for the green Performer.

The guy on the left is a the tb member from Florida. He got to inspect this rare early '80s prototype in what looks like pale metallic Fiesta red. It had an additional mini-toggle switch also, but I don't know what it did. It had a more traditional Fender hs and a cool custom sculpted Schaller fine-tuning bridge. The bridge on the '85 Performer was a version of Fenders traditional 'bent-plate' but unique to the Performer. The green one I renovated was missing that bridge and (the legendary master luthier) Bruce Johnson (also a tb member) fabricated a clone for me. Attempting to find an original is near impossible.

A pic of its designer John Page in the early '80s playing another prototype (colour & bridge appear to be different - and no second mini-toggle) in Fenders parking lot. I've also seen a CAR prototype with a black pg and that same sculpted Schaller bridge. John Page founded the Fender Custom Shop in '86.

I set my amps with bright switch on and close to full treble which makes the tone control(s) on basses very fast, I can go deep bassy to screaming treble with about a 1/4 to 1/2 of a turn depending on the bass. I like enough treble to cut through but like the bottom too so I start with the tone controls close to off then turn them up if I need it. I also like volume(s) down a little too, the sound is more scooped, then also I can sneak it up without anyone knowing .

That's what my glow in the dark Morley pedal is for. I usually start with it backed off a bit. 8^) Then there's the boost on my Super 800 Plus for backup ....

They have a 1.5" nut like a J, but a narrower heal than a standard Fender neck. I loved it.

Very cool. You have room where the SVT and Berg cab were. Your house and bass room are beautiful George. Maybe we can convince you to stay in SoCal a little longer?

I’ll be here at least as long as it takes to sort out my wife’s medical challenges. When you’re over 60 there’s a lot to be said for living within an hours drive of some of the best medical facilities in the world.

1. Don't take medical advice from strangers on the internet.
2. @JIO is correct. Seek medical care. There are a few possibilities. If you get it looked after properly, there can be a full recovery with little or no diminishment in function.

I love it when self-defeating posts are correct! It's so rare.
