We had a Bud “LA” beer here for a short time. ‘87/‘88? It was ok and certainly tasted better than Coors. It was around for a year or so. I think they were just test marketing it here. There used to be a zero “beer” years and years ago in our supermarkets. It was swill and really was like “sex in a canoe”.
Athletic Brewing?

Pine needles? Is it pine needles? I bet it is pine needles.I agree on the Guinness. I haven’t found any micro beers that I like. Ok a couple, but they aren’t micro breweries any more but pretty mainstream now. But I really dislike the taste of IPAs that I’ve tried. There is a certain flavour to me that I can’t enjoy.
That's likely the LS song I don't have to hear too often. Heard it countless times and played in bands more times than I can count--but it's great once in a while. (LS tip: Every song sounds much, much better on their live album.)That was fun Donnie.
I trust what you say, Ken--but not on this one. That guy's a hack!
I remember when some of them came out decades ago. The few that I tried then were naaaaasty. I'm sure that's changed for a few of them now.Have any of you tried the new 0% alcohol beers?
I’m interested in trying them just to see if they taste decent and like the main brew the company puts out.

I used to alternate with a pick and fingers back in the the day depending on the song. A I was was actually “ok.” When I stopped playing bass and dabbled with acoustic guitar over the years (life happened) I only used fingers. When I started playing bass again seriously, now going on ten years or so, my pick skills (to the extent I had any) were gone. I’m getting serious again and really need to add pick skills to my playing.
I loved Heineken when I drank way back when. It had a very unique taste that just clicked with me. I'm sure there are "better" brands that I may like better now that there are more brands than stars in the sky. I don't think I ever had a Guinness, but always wanted to try one. They just look good! That’s an interesting comment. I’ve only had bottled Heineken, and I really dislike it. Here I was thinking I was the only one.![]()
I’m about as far from a beer connoisseur as you can get. I never really acquired a taste for beer, so I just drank whatever was available (Bud, Coors, Schlitz, Oly…). I’ll usually have a beer with dinner if we’re eating at a Mexican restaurant, in which case I like Dos Equis amber. If I have a beer at home with a burger or something it’ll be the same or possibly a Fosters oil can if it’s ice cold.
Again, I’m obviously not a connoisseur.

Last summer, a friend brought a very good bottle of cognac to the cottage weekend. I have never been a brandy drinker (probably because growing up my dad bought some sort of cheap rot gut brandy and the stuff smelled nasty).Come to a GTG, or hang out with Ken and I.
Usually Scotch is involved, which doesn’t help matters any.
I think the Northeast breweries would beg to differ.Hops are a preservative not a flavor. Not completely true, but the acid in hops shouldn’t do more than balance the sweetness of the malt.
