Thunderbird Club

At some point in my childhood (in the 5-10 y/o range), we had quinine water in the fridge in El Paso. I don't recall why. I just remember tasting it and liking it, so I drank a bottle and Mom was annoyed at my "wasting it".

It's definitely a taste that isn't for everyone.

So I wasn't the first with the RNR idea. Mr. Tom Petersson. This bass was for sale a couple of times, but for ridiculous amounts of money.

That's cool.

I just realized I misspelled it - it's Demian, not Damian. Made by Fujigen, the name "Demian" was coined by Mr. Mimura after reading a novel by Herman Hesse. A 6-string version was also made w/2 pu's and a whammy bridge.

Speaking of cool '60s Japanese basses... I just bought this mid '60s 34"scale (rare for '60s Japan) "Tempo". It is the same bass that was my 1st bass in 1966. All original (including ashtray) other than the finish being stripped. I'll have Pat Wilkins shoot this soft halo/trans brown-burst, similar to my '64 T-bird II.

I use Hipshot BT3s on all my Fender necks. I just checked a Hipshot Detuner I have for my Embassies, it looks like 3/8" with 1 mounting screw. The VP, which is wearing 4 screw Wilkinsons, looks like 1/2" posts. Ideally, I don’t want to drill screw holes.
Hipshot USA all the way. I put them on my MIM Mustang. It’s a fabulous little bass now. I could barely stand it before the swap.

l’m still shocked that Gibson used licensed Hipshots instead of USA Hipshots on the ‘21 NR. Luckily, I haven’t had issues. But @Instagator certainly encountered some. He has the patience of Job. Thankfully, it appears he finally got all of that sorted.
