I could do Jason & The Scorchers style from the Lost & Found album and X, but I would have trouble playing real country music for long. But I would not want to play the county pop stuff that is so popular these days. My friend was telling me how much he likes some of that stuff, but he also likes Nickleback so..........



I am one of the people that likes to buy the album rather than the downloads. Probably just my age, but I feel the need to have the physical product. I will buy music from bands on Bandcamp even if it is just a downloadable album. I like to support bands where I can.

Yep. Buy the music you like. Support the artist. It’s a different world today with garbage coming from record labels (that nobody really pays for). That’s why I like Spotify. I get introduced to new music all the time. And I usually buy what I like as a show of support.

They have been around quite some time. They did have a hiatus while the lead singer kicked heroin. Then he went on to do a TV show in which he is some kind of cop. (Don't know the show, I don't watch cop shows).

As do I. I don’t do Starbucks. Ten or twenty bucks a month here and there makes me happy knowing it’s helping younger musicians find an audience.

Every now and then I’ll light up a country channel on Pandora and play along with it. Since I really don’t know any of the songs I’m kinda picking up the patterns as the song plays. That makes the Alan Jackson tunes where the bass line pretty much follows the melody relatively easy to figure out on the fly, same goes for a lot of the other Country artists.

Interestingly enough, I find it more difficult to play along with Garth Brooks songs that I haven’t heard before, for much the same reason as Frank Sinatra songs, the music is all about his voice (and what a voice it is) the band is very much in a supportive role and the bass is frequently minimal and not tracking the melody, which makes it more difficult play on the fly if you don’t have the sheet music or tabs or have never heard the song before.

My daughter works in a drugstore. They have the sensors that beep when you walk out without paying and deactivating the RFI tag, but the staff are told not to do anything. There are cameras, but no security on site.
So it's basically the honor system

I'm a fan. In ... 86? ... I saw them in Halifax two nights running when I was at the naval hospital. They played the Misty Moon (officially off-limits) Thurs-Sun. I went Friday and enjoyed the show enough to go back and catch them again on the Saturday. I didn't go Thursday or Sunday as I started at 0730 and it would be too late a night.

Not a fan in any way of any of it.

I like to watch (Ahem!) but I don't have the time to follow anything closely.

I don't understand fans that say "we won" because, when I watch the games, the fans are never on the field. Seems to me that the totality of the accomplishments happen on the field, not in the stands.

I have even less understanding of soccer hooliganism (except for the one team in Poland that is a front for neo-nazis; I only know this is because the team is in my ex-wife's home town).
