Saw him at the Palace Hotel in the city at a very small corporate event.

He lives in the avenues near Golden Gate Park. When he performed at the free concert "Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival" in GGPark a few years ago - he walked there from his house.
Did these VP’ come with Wilkinson branded tuners?

never a big fan of tort….will tolerate if no other option and prefer it with some finishes over others, one of those others being tobacco sunburst….so, either @JIO G builds a white or black pg or we get it cleaned up and leave it without pg…

sometimes wonder…..these being one piece (NRs and other set) necks, how much mahogany was wasted when making these…..scraps probably used for footswitches and other smaller assemblies?……

I´d like to find one of these in my country; 90% of advertised pre-owned are IV versions, 5% Pro, 5% Classic Pro, -10% Vintage Pro.
Sweet! You got an early model with the nicer tuners.
That crack isn’t uncommon and is most likely just a stress crack in the finish. Doesn’t take much to cause that, could have been a hard bump to the headstock or even just a quick temperature change. Just keep an eye on it, especially when changing strings, if the crack opens up to a gap with no string tension then it’s a deeper issue that can be easily fixed by a competent luthier fairly cheaply.
Bass is great on that, it's just the rest of the tune I'm deathly sick of.They used to play the album version a lot during the 70's, on and on and on and on....., for me it's right up there with Stairway to Heaven.

We played Inside back in the day. Without the long jam. I guess the radio cut? I was proud to have pretty much worked it out. My buddy guitar player sang it really well. GFR was really big on the Central Coast where I grew up. Another one I need to revisit.
