For you Peavey aficionados (@KaraQ), would a TNT 115 (200w) be a reasonable combo amp at $100? It’s in perfect condition.
Yes. I would buy it if so inclined. They are good amps and were pretty popular in the day. Ross Valorie used them for several years. Likely getting paid to do so as well--but he could have used any thing he wanted.

I wouldn't personally play a yellow bass but it looks nice. Price is right and with some work it could be a decent player, as it sounds like he's going to do. Would definitely have to get the pu's in phase. It's like my '63 Burns of London Vista Sonic with its "Wild Dog" setting. (out of phase - sounds thin and anemic..) Possibly ok for a guitar - not for a bass. I reversed it and it sounds much better.

Also thought his playing the short except of the Anderson's guy attempting to say something positive about how bad it sounds out of phase was.., well played. An example of how Anderson's (as a company selling that bass) didn't want to criticize it. That's where Lobster is more objective - he's not selling that bass.

This style is a paradigm shift from what Eiphone has been doing in terms of aesthetics. For now I don't wish that bass.... (for now).

That's where Lobster is more objective - he's not selling that bass.

Agreed.

I checked specs and it’s heavier than I want at 85#. That’s more than the Workingmans 15 I had.

I may have done a bad bad thing.

I might have bought that Epi Limited Edition Custom Shop that is either TV Silver or what would be a very rare green. So rare that I was unable to confirm they ever did one in that color. Who knows. I got an automated text from GC to confirm and responded YES. Still haven’t received a confirming email. GC is flaky. That Tbird is in Braintree, MA. Last time I tried to buy something used from them that was back east, a cab, they told me, several days after the fact, that someone else bought it before me. Yeah right. Anyway, great if it goes through, no harm no foul if it doesn’t. But at the price they wanted and $24 to ship to the local GC, I figure I’ve got nothing to lose.

Gibson serial numbers are a mystery. My EB-2 serial says it could be anywhere from 1966 to 1971, depending on where you look and who you ask. I have decided it's probably a '68, based on some details and based on just deciding that's what it is. I was told it was a '65 when I got it. It certainly isn't a '65 unless somebody modified it to be like slightly later ones. But Gibson.
But Gibson.
Eggzackly!

Even my 30watt B15N is plenty loud, at least for small clubs/bars. Tube watt #'s are always louder than a corresponding SS amp, besides - you don't want to blow-up the speaker by pushing it too hard with a lot of watts. That's what a FoH mic/d.i. is for.
:roflmao: FoH! That's a effing riot(here, anyway).
