in series (don't know the topology), bigger cap: louder/brighter
in parallel just the opposite; less volume/darker
a jumper would ground the whole signal not telling us much, more can be learned from lifting one side off imho...

This is what I’m seeing in my Les Paul Tribute:
The switch is a push/pull on the back of the Vol pot.

The cap is in series with the single coil when the switch is closed.
I’m pretty sure the 2015 Tbirds are the same x2 using separate switches and without the cap.
Edit: And looking at it again the cap is in parallel with the other coil when the switch is closed.

Crazy me. When I was doing annual maintenance on the basses that are here at the house in the burbs last week, I missed this one. I thought I took it to the other place. Anyway, it needs an 1/8th to a 1/4 turn to tighten the TR. I can’t find a crack pipe wrench here so it’ll need have to wait.

Does a cast count in lieu of boots?

Some interesting things there. If I read the serial number correctly, it's a 2011, not 2013. And the bridge in the case looks like one of Scott's 3-point bridges.
