Funny, 1977-1983 were my above average stupid years as well. Three years before and after graduating HS. I never moved, so I kept my stupid in one place to keep track of I suppose. I had some of the best memories from that time and without question some awful regrets. Just glad to have gotten through it without being shot, arrested or killed by my own stupidity. When my head got clear and screwed on straight I was relieved. Now my stupid isn't supercharged as before.

That, without question, is one of the best looking basses I've ever seen or ever will see. If I were to order a custom bass, it would likely look like this one. Wow! I cold even live with the full length thumb rest.

No. She does not participate here. And probably because she’s a busy wife and Mom as well as all the touring and recording. She is really nice.
Mike Watt doesn’t check in here either. Although he occasionally checks into TalkBass. He’s a good guy.

I would have to nominate posthumously Leon Wilkinson, who is in whole or part responsible for a couple of us, playing bass, and Thunderbirds in particular.
If we're going for it, I'd add those guys as well. When their image comes up to mind, it is invariably with a Thunderbird.

Some kinds of tassels are OK.
That was actually my first move. They haven't really explored that option enough to find a solution. They have custom cases made for them and that's what they sell them with. Most of the guys with them are heavy on the road and they're all in vaults anyways.
Martin Turner too. Overend Watts and Killer Kane should get posthumous recognition. These three always made me want a Thunderbird.

Yeah, it's coming with a custom hard case. For gigs I'd like to maintain an easy one trip in and one trip out workflow. Backpack straps make that super easy. Plus I'd like to have the option of taking it on fly gigs. Hard case means it's getting checked almost for sure. Gig bags I usually get by with. Wear them upside down till you're on the plane. Also, pay extra for early boarding. Once it's in the bin, it's in the bin. At least in my experience.
