The Vintage Pro/60s has Probucker 760 pickups which are the same size as most other chrome Gibson Tbird pickups.

So all this VP love is making me realize I need to spend more time with my '17 VP. I've never really bonded with it. It's not a Tbird I pick up often because of the size and reach. I can probably get used to it if I focus just on it for several weeks.

At 7.6lbs that's probably the lightest bird any of us will ever see. If I'm buying a Dingwall, I want a 5 though.

I know it was, i'm only mentioning him because he's the only person i've seen "pioneer" this frankenstein xD

It'll be my 1st reverse HS ever, really looking forward to playing the finished product later this fall.

I have a thing for Thunderbirds for sure, can't really explain it, just drawn to the vibe and sound. I owned various Gibsons and Epis over the last 7 years and for me, the primary reason for shifting to FenderBirds is ergonomics: it might not be by much, but that shorter neck is way gentler on my left shoulder (recurring tendonitis), enough to make a difference and allow me to play Thunderbirds as much as I want, without running to the physiotherapist. I do listen to the Who, owned a few albums back then and still have WGFA, Baba, Behind Blue Eyes, Who Are You and others on my playlists, although I won't pretend being a big fan. BUT, I have huge respect for their accomplishments as a band and for the mark The Ox left on our universe, either by his playing or his innovations.

Makes perfect sense! Well i'm glad you can still enjoy the birds without suffering

That was Will Carruthers, formally of Spacemen3 and Spiritualized and here he is selling his Thunderbird.

I saw the latest BJM lineup on their UK tour earlier this year. They were equally fabulous and frustrating, the playing was top notch but the faffing about and arguments between songs grew very tiresome. With up to four vintage twelve strings in action, the tuning up before each song often lasted longer than the song itself.

I saw the latest BJM lineup on their UK tour earlier this year. They were equally fabulous and frustrating, the playing was top notch but the faffing about and arguments between songs grew very tiresome. With up to four vintage twelve strings in action, the tuning up before each song often lasted longer than the song itself.

even more coincidence, we were practically neighbors…my dad worked at the Cooper Bessemer office in Mount Vernon where we lived…..could have totally happended as I was 5 in 69 and remember the track….

That's amazing. I lived there from 1962, when my dad got out of the Navy, until 1978, when I went to college, never to return for more than a couple months at a time. After 1980, I never saw much need to go back except for the occasional visit. MidOhio was great. Central Ohio had an uninhabitable climate, as I have come to understand, a zillion mosquitos, and poison ivy. Not so great. It was a great place to grow up, though.

My longest lasting high school girlfriend lived in Granville, a bit east of Newark. With Mount Vernon, the three towns would make a pretty close to equilateral triangle. My inner geek really likes that factoid.

The Standard is (was). The Custom is (was) made in Canada and runs about $4000. Quality of the China model is impeccable.
